my first harvest...little help please..

i have all my buds hanging,,,i have about 5 nuggets that i cut and dried about a week ago in a jar...my buds are really small ''popcorn buds'',and they dry out in like 2 days,,,any ways they got really crunchy in those 5 days in the jar,so i threw in a piece of tortilla,and now those nuggets are like i just took them off the stem soft,but not so dank smellin anymore,,,,could this ruine my buds,is there another way to keep them from drying to much,,,,,,,,one more question,,,is there anything wrong with keeping your buds in a plastic container instead of glass...

thats that southern cali mentality,tortillas work for a multitude of things aparently they help cure weed also,oh well if all else fails he could make a taco or gordita...lol,just kidding,but as for curing,you should let the buds dry upside down until the stems break then put them in jars for about 3 or 4 weeks opening the jars daily for 30 mins or so....the purpose of curing is to mellow out and age the thc so that the smoke is smoother and less hacky(coughy)and in turn that allows you to taste those sweet aeromatics with every puff.....nikkz

I can't say that i've used a tort.




people call me nuts because i "re-moisten" my pot before smoking to bring out smells that werent there before.

stuff that crumbles into dust ya know?

anyways I use a 2 inch circular piece of terracotta and soak it in water for an hour, then let the outside of disc dry completely.

insert into jar with super dry (possibly smell-less) pot and let sit for 30 minutes or less.

This should spiff it up and dank up your room!

I've had some dry bagweed before. Any kind of moisture will, in turn, moisten the buds. I would slice off a small sliver of orange peel and put it in the bag. It doesn't take much. Worked just fine. Good luck!

Tortillas, huh? doesn't sound that wacky to me. I know a few people who put a stale bread crust in with their stash... mostly old heads but hey, sometimes shit works for no apparent reason.

I'd be worried about mold with any sort of bread product in my stash. Course all the buds here in VA seem to come pre-molded anyhow.

Bread increases moisture in bud when put with dry buds because buds will act like a sponge to water, the only reason people use bread is because if you put straight water onto buds it has to basically be re - dryed...

now thats its been remoistened cure it as usual, smell may return. you should be using an air tight glass container to keep the moisture in, that way it doesnt dry out.

In the future, you should check around and see what others have done to deal with this problem.

I mean, after months of toil and sweat you just pop a tortilla in there because a friend has done it with his POUNDS? Are they pounds of SHWAG?

Next time, try putting pieces of fresh stems and leaves from the plant in with the jar to add a little moisture. This won't ruin the smell and wont invite mold like flour-based bread products will.

You spend so much time caring for the plant while it's growing, the same care should be exercised in the harvest and cure. The hard work isn't over after you chop them and manicure them...
