this helped a lotI'm actually using a 400watt MH to flower my plant as i type, even though it's a switchable ballast. Unfortunatly the only reason that i'm doing so is that im currently broke and can't afford a quality HPS bulb at the moment ha. BUT I am using my old 100watt HPS as supplimental lighting on a part of my plant that got topped again when i switched to flowering so it got wayy out grew and shaded. It was retarded on my part but i was showing my cousin how to top a plant. Needless to say the other 3 tops doubled in size while the growth halted on that branch while it developed its 2 new tops. It's way obvious that the part of the plant thats getting the extra 100 watts of HPS is developing much denser buds.
good info
Overall im only like 3-4 weeks into flowering and its doing better than i thought it would for using that bulb in flowering, Although i still do with i had that damn hps bulb.
thank youthis is all flowered with 1 400watt MH bulb and 2 CFL's
how long is this into flowering?this is all flowered with 1 400watt MH bulb and 2 CFL's
im just starting my 8 weeks. i dont have an exact date cause i was a dumbass and didnt write it down lol. But my seeds germinated on may 23rd and i vegged for about 2 weeks, been on 12/12 since. I would have vegged longer but I found out id be moving, so i switched to 12/12 hoping they would be finished by the time i move. I had good timing since ill be moving at the end of this month. i have 1 or 2 plants that are a little behind that ill have to give away, but better than it going to waste i guess. right now my trics are 50% cloudy and 50% clear roughly.how long is this into flowering?
thank you sr i am fully aware of the rules of growingdo what ya want.
I follow the rules of growing. MH has always been used for veg cycle. And there is science behind the reason for this.. plants use the blue spectrum (natural daylight) during veg.. the blue spectrum during flowering doesn't do the plant a whole lot of good. Period.
Which is also why the general rules of growing.. have always said to use MH for veg.. and HPS for flowering. Why? Simple.. HPS light is high in the red spectrum.. which the plant utilitizes and uses while flowering.. and vise versa.
Now of course, using DUAL SPECTRUM lighting.. which is a lamp system that contains both the "blue spectrum" and the "red spectrum" of lighting all in the same unit.. combining both spectrums.. which has been proven by science and backed by science.. as being even more effective than using just HPS lighting alone.. for flowering.
Using ONLY MH lights.. well.. until I try it (which I won't ever waste my time doing so) I won't believe that it works... because science says differently. Period.
But, to each their own.. and if you feel like flowering with MH lighting alone.. then by all means.. go for it. Best of luck to ya.. you'll need it.
peace.
obviously my buds are fine....so i dont need luck. MH lights just have more blue spectrum, you make it sound like there is no red in them so its useless. The difference you will see in MH/HPS is pretty much just getting denser buds with a HPS, which adds weight so they are a better choice. But myself, like i said. I had the bulb already and it works for me with a few added CFLsdo what ya want.

heh. I'll post whatever I wanna post bud. Capeche?thank you sr i am fully aware of the rules of growing
please if you respond again in this thread or others let it be on topic
posts like this , all though informative, tend to takes threads "off topic"
please remimber the topic is "people who flower under mh only "
also, this doesn't matter. I go by science.. science doesn't lie my friend.do you notice any diference in mh bud compared to hps
(i know "they" say it is but most of "they" have never flowered under mh )
and you were so scientific by actually trying it....didn't think so....not saying your wrong at all bud, but you can succesfully flower under both. one will just give you a better yield. dont misdirect people and tell them it wont workalso, this doesn't matter. I go by science.. science doesn't lie my friend.
thanks though.
bye now.
do what ya want.
