actually physicians consider them a great idea especially for women who repeatedly have "surprise" pregnancies. women don't have to worry about missing pills and they can still let their body menstruate naturally. the only discomfort is on the insertion of the device. i have never heard of skin growing over the device. there is no skin in the uterus.

First of all there's no localized inflammation. Secondly, the immune system doesn't attack sperm. A woman's body naturally attacks sperm as a foreign substance. In some women, it's so bad they can't have sex.There are two types of IUD, copper and progesterone. Copper immobilizes sperm so it can't implant an egg. Progesterone causes the body to release leukocytes and prostaglandins which are harmful to sperm and developing eggs. This means hormone IUDs are abortion devices. Another feature of hormone IUDs is they cause a mucus to obstruct sperm. None of these things are natural and can cause serious harm.
