I am a firm believer of stretching the truth at times.
I've never outright lied about attending this or that, but what I have done is chalked myself up a notch on how long I was in a given school or location.
Helps to "fill the gaps."
Ambiguity is a kind of powerful thing at times, too. In example, I have employment gaps that even the above doctoring can't heal. I tend to look for work outside my "primary field" (ie, a trade that I went to "some" school for and worked in for 5-6 years straight) and just say I'm a freelance (in my trade) and that I look for other jobs "on the side" (like the one I'm applying for and don't seem desperate at all for {points points points, for some reason they never want to hire a guy who acts like he needs a job...}) --this allows me to simply say "business is slow" for why I'm looking, and effectively fills all employment gaps because I started my freelance business "when I left my [trade] job"...
So yeah. I'm a bullshit artist. I think that's what they call it. But I do make it look good. Well, maybe not. I mean, it's true, technically. But I sure put a lot of whipped cream on their sunday.
I don't consider this "lying" because it's all true, technically, except maybe the date-exxagerating. The rest is all truth. I just leave out the parts about how I don't try at all to upkeep my freelance work load and tend to stay home gardening indoors...
