First Grow Help.

So i had an amazing plan to start a 3x3x7 grow tent, and grow some amazing meds. Until my landlord decided to sell our place, now i cant put it up due to realtors coming.

... But i will not give up! i want to grow 2 autos in a hand made box with a small desk fan hooked up. Iv been reading about cfl's. Could i grow 2 autos all the way through from seeds with 4 200w cfls? Would it be too little, or too much? and is it even possible? Heres the ones im looking at...

Never did autos but I do have a couple 200w cfls. I think 4 bulbs would do your tent if u wanted. I'd start with just 1 and add another if u think u need it. In a small area they will build up a lot of heat. That color temp 6500k is ideal for vegetative growth, look for a 2700k color temp for flowering. Never did an auto but 12/12 from seed with mostly indices, I've had height variances from 6 inches to about 20 inches in solo cups.

I use one of the cfls on my early growth babies in gallon pots to cover about a 3x3 area. not as much light as the 1000w mh i used to us, but easier on the electric bill. but with an 8 wk perpetual I have plenty of time to get up to size. I'm becoming every day a bigger fan of cfl and t5s.

For flower I'm more picky and cover the same area with about 500w of hps, but 3 cfls would actually do about the same job for the area.

Thanks for the info man. so i should use a different kind of of cfl for each growing stage? i was thinkin i was just gonna make a 2x2x5 box and put 4 200w cfls in it with 4 plants and a desk fan hooked up to it, and paint it flat white. Do u think that would work? And use 4 6500k in veg, and 4 2700k during flowering?

Not a big fan of auto flowers. If I were you I would do some research on LST Low Stress Training. Its a much better option then auto's IMO if size is the issue. You can pick any strains LST them and you will end up with more bud then a auto in pretty much all cases. You can train the plant into the shape and size that you want. Also if height is a issue look into indica dom strains then LST also if needed they are almost all much shorter then sative dom plants.

The auto i had got pretty big, I think it would be much harder to control the height of an auto over a photoperiod plant which u can top or LST etc.

thts alotta watts of CFLs? can i ask why u didnt just get a 150 HPS which will easily cover 2 autos with great resaults and not running 800w? unless u got money to spend on the bill...good luck tho itll def work.

oh ya and are we talking 200 actually watts like its a mogul based bulb? of equivalent?

i think its equivelant. I posted the one i was looking at in my 1st post. im think of just running 2 lights. their gonna be in a small spot, and want to beable to just lift the whole box and place it in our outside closet when the landlord comes. we only get like anhour heads up, so i need it to be small but still work well. So can i LST an auto? id rather do a full plant and train it, but the shorter the grow cycle the better right now so i was leaning towards some autos. i was think of starting 2 now then 2 in a month so i can have consistant trees...
