    Manifolding

Hi OSD, When my veg area gets crouded...I do some training and defoliation. I do that a little bit in bloom too. Especially the damn fan leaves that stick straight way too far. JD

    Manifolding

Good morning Rainbow and crew, I'm growing some Kali Mist...I'm beginning to suspect that it is more indica then I previously believed. It has fairly fat leaves...not like an Afghan...but nore like a hybrid. When breeders want to make a sativa "better" or perhaps "more marketable" might be...

    What Are You Listening To?

Thanks for that Larry. Great tunes and you sure can hear the family influences. Liked the drumset in the first tune...I have one just like that. Cheers, JD

    Is flushing really needed??

Hi Tommy, The best harvests I've ever had was when I was using the finish product Final Finish. It is essentially a flush product designed to chelate nutrients left in the media so it can't be absorbed. But the secret and primary ingredient is Epsom salts which help sstimulate terpines via the...

    Ph up and ph down

Hi Xtsho, The ph down was a powder...but I diluted maybe 10cc into a liter before use. I don't have access to the original packaging at the moment (it's in lights-off bloom room) But I will double check both the chemical names for the ph down and also the powdered calmag I am using. A mistake...

    Bathroom exhaust fan, carbon filter

Hi NirvanaMesa, Sounds like an easily doable project. I wanted to add that Panasonic whisperline are excellent very quiet bathroom fans. I use the 240cfm one to vent my room. Good luck, JD

    When to feed bloom nutes?

Not necessary Z, just something I read and remembered. Hey, your name is sort of unfamilar...you back after awhile off? Maybe we just hang out in different sections of the forum. I never go into Politics for example...those dudes scare me! Cheers, JD

    When to feed bloom nutes?

Hi zypher...just to throw a little pertinent info out there. Stretch is related to total flowering time. The number is like 25%. So 8 week strain gives you 2 week stretch. A 14 week sativa would probably stretch 3 1/2 weeks or so. JD

    When to feed bloom nutes?

Hi Porky, The presence of increased P and K from bloom nutes or bloom booster can help stimulate flowering...so I start right after the stretch is mostly over. At 2 week point...usually...depending on strain. JD

    What Are You Listening To?

Greetings, I picked up some compilation CDs from Mountain Stage Radio years ago. One had a song that stuck with me. Uncle Tupelo singing about the drinkng life...great acoustic guitar. JD

    What deficiency?

Hi Matt...the plant just finushed stretch too which puts vegetative nutrient demands on the plants...if you're looking for a reason. Some guys keep grow nutes going till stretch ends. JD

    What to do with trim

Hi Mac...I don't know about Cindy, but I add water to absorb chloraophyll and other unwanted water soluble stuff. Oil comes out just as potent but paler green with better taste. Pretty much the method RobRoy described. JD

1st day of week 10 of flower No yellow leafs.

GGG, So you fed with grow nutes all the way? Not a good idea. For a long time I did Lucas Formula using Maxi-bloom for everything. Plenty of N. You will learn to ignore manufacturer's dose advice. What's important is how your plants respond. You would have been better off with lower nute...

1st day of week 10 of flower No yellow leafs.

GGG, For a plant to be that green after a two week flush...you must really have had it loaded up with Nitrogen. Too much N does discourage bloom and perhaps that's why it's taking so long to finish. JD

    Phosphorus or calmag possibly?

Sorry...forgot for a sec that we were talking runoff. So if the plant is using more water then food and nutes are building up. You should lower your nute levels. And take a serious look at the additives and maybe your plant could do without. JD bongsmilie

    Phosphorus or calmag possibly?

Glad I was wrong on the ph. On the PPM...I rarely go above 800ppm but it's almost an individual preference. You could cut your ppms in half...with just basic nutes, and the plant would grow fine. JD

    SOG

TF...I'm with you on your height management plan. But regarding runoff...rockwool can get toxic nutrient salt build-up just like coco...so even if you keep nutes low and keep the rockwool moist...might be a good idea to do a little weekly "maintenance" flush to prevent that...just a thought. JD

    Phosphorus or calmag possibly?

Bet it will be way low...I guess 4. Shoulda told us it was soil-less. Needs to be treated more like coco and less like soil. JD
