    Phosphorus or calmag possibly?

This is soil, right? Ya back off on the nutes. Some guys use feed water repeat while some people only feed every third watering. Be sure to allow drying between. JD

    SOG

Nope...I always just relied on air exchange to provide CO2. I'm curious as to how you are going to keep enough lamp clearance in a tent with a tray and a 1000w light. You got a 10' tall tent or what? JD

    Phosphorus or calmag possibly?

LTB, I actually feel that it's from excess nutrients. Last run...I overdid it and many of the leaves had that edge burn thing going on. Plus several of your leaves have blatant tip burn. For someone whose username is learningthebasics...you're really going overboard with some very non-basic...

    SOG

TF, The one big difference between rtw cocco is the recirculating aspect. You have to avoid chemical interactions between the different nutes. So start your reading on res management. Or are you doing the rockwool run to waste also? JD PS I realized that nobody answered your light question...

    SOG

Hi TF, I'm always a sucker for a good SOG thread. Not doing it now...but did for a few years awhile back. Hydroton in small pots probably similar to what Thundercat is doing. I was very pleased with results. I had a super nice sativa leaning Whate Widow which took to SOG well...so I...

40+ lbs with 12 Plants in 2 Rooms on a Flip

Well I'm sort of stuck with it. Last summer I got a little crazy with a Grow Shop forclosure auction...and now I have 4 cases (minus what I've used) sitting in my shed. I've always had good luck using it for clones...and just recently I vegged a White Widow in a 3"x3" block. Just top watered...

To prune or not to prune

She looks good. That's about the same amount that I would normally do...in preparation for bloom. Almost for certain, she'll produce better for you... JD

    Best method cloning

...or you could be developing OCD. lol I like the "breaded" cube thing with mycos. And you cover the clear cups with opaque ones...right? So you can peek at the roots. I'm gonna start doing that. JD

Unorthodoxy's Mostly orthodox first indoor grow experience.

Not too familiar with foxtailing. You mentioned stress...specifically heat and/or light stress will cause it. Also strain dependent...which may be part of it. bOn this RQS rap...they talk about different kinds of foxtails. First I heard that. JD...

Safe to use Epsom Salts while also using CalMag?

Ya...now I remember. You are dealing with a bunch of potheads here. lol Both Ca and Mg are needed at varying degrees so for your plant (and pheno)...it sounds like you hit the right formula. When I started growing at this location last winter...I had some Ca def issues (brown spots) despite...

40+ lbs with 12 Plants in 2 Rooms on a Flip

Hey Renfro, That's almost the same as how I did it...only 3'x3' trays...with 400 hps. I was on a White Widow kick when I was doing that. Clean and easy way to grow. Wanted to ask you...what clone medium do you use. Rockwool would be the obvious first choice. I love the stuff. Hey I was...

Safe to use Epsom Salts while also using CalMag?

Logan, Not even sure what your medium is. Sure you can use Epsom salts along with calmag. I do it. I give enough calmag to deal with Ca++ needs and then Epsom salts if I need more Mg. I like the sulfur especially in bloom. Your nutes sound high to me...and i would exp;lore the lockout issue. JD

To prune or not to prune

Hi Rmac, With veg plants I prune fairly freely. With a bushy plant, it's good to claer out some of the central area growth to increase light penetration like Horribleherk said. Once they start flowering though you want to take it easy... JD PS You might want to clear out any sucker shoots...

    Oxgentated water for plant growth?

Did the grower survive? I know his plant must have died...that stuff is dangerous. It's used commercially but very toxic. Hey top-shelf...I know some soil growers will aerate nutes just by dropping an airstone in the pitcher for a few minutes before watering. Can't hurt... JD

    Ace Genetics Thread

That's an interesting trait...could be used for multiple harvests I suppose. Shua...you were right and I was confused/stoned. The one one the left is the one that seems to have more thai traits. I have 7 or 8 seeds yet to be germed. GT regular and once the vegging ones are in flower...I'll...

    Ace Genetics Thread

Hi Guys, The two phenos of Glden Tiger end up looking pretty much the same when I take pictures. This shot is a topping from what I believe to be the Thai pheno. The two Malawi ones don't have narrow leaves like this.

Thanks Shua, I could have posted the wrong picture. When I have them out for watering tomorrow I'll take some more shots. I have an unsexed plant from seed that's looking more Thai...I'm hoping for a male. JD

    Fimming vs topping

Ya, before...I'd have to calibrate almost every use or I'd get strange results. But I can see where a clean electrode would give the best results. I just can't determine the drops method. I am a little color blind. So I like having a meter with solid results...so I can keep my coco feedings...

    Do i need RO filter?

That's good for chlorine...but many municipalities use chloramines which don't evaporate. Check the local water district online report to see what they use. Again...only an issue if you are using benificial bacteria and such. JD
