Force flowering under 24 hour light.

I've has "cloning for gender" plants go into full bloom at that height. Sure your timer is working properly?

    Newbie here... Nutrients help PLEASE

Hi Casey, These sort of discussions always stir things up. I've been a Maxi-bloom (Lucas formula) sort of guy for over a decade, but recently I had a few strains that needed more N...so am now using the full Maxi line...all two of them! Cheap...and yes, you avoid paying for shipping the...

    Pot too big?

Don't beat yourself up...we all lose plants. About a year ago I watered some seedlings accidentally with ph down...had them in similar container to ph corrected H2O. Killed half dozen seedlings. Stoner moment... JD

    Pot too big?

Sorry you lost a plant. Consider using peat pots filled with a mild seed starter mix. And my bad about the medium...thought it looked like coco. JD

Seed showing tap root but no seedling

3 days isn't slow and it should be ok unless you broke the taproot poking around... JD

    Pot too big?

rd, Just water right around the seedling. Don't get the whole pot wet...or it'll never dry. And because it's coco, include low dose nutes. I use 1/8 strength for that size seedling. JD

    Need help identifying seedling issues

TJ, Indeed...growing indoors is way more complicated. You have to provide everything correctly including environment (heat and humidity as well as ventilation) Marijuana likes a couple of things. Porous soil that allows for good aeration. And slightly acidic feedings. Ph shouldn't be an...

    Need help identifying seedling issues

TJ, Those lttle fat leaves that have yellowed are cotyledons. They are destined to be used up and die. So you need to provide the nutrition for the plants now. If that seedling mix has nutrient value...then feed less. But if you're using a soilless...then I'd feed at maybe 1/8 strength...

Mainlining my plants. How long should I veg?

If you're locked into a schedule by your system...then by all means, do not throw a monkey wrench into the works. I grow in coco and can start and finish plants as I desire. I can't answer your first question but I would guestimate that your current method would outperform manifold training...

This gets my vote...sell the tent on eBay... JD

Mainlining my plants. How long should I veg?

You're still thinking that an increased veg time is a major waste and expense. But is it really? To have all the training take place on small plants that are easy to move around VS crawling around under a scrog net weaving branches? I'm an old fart and I choose the easy way...even if yield is...

Mainlining my plants. How long should I veg?

Gonna throw out a little old school wisdon. Actually not sure if this is Bro' science or not. But the idea is that a given plant...in a particular grow op will have a theoretical optimal bud mass produced. Not possible to go beyond. So what training can do is not necessarily increase bud...

    Stem splitting anyone tried ?

I was never brave enough to try it either. It may make sense using human logic...but not totally sure if the added stress will actually increase potency. The plant is already experiencing stress from being prepared for reproduction...but no pollen in sight. So I choose to not add additional...

    Stem splitting anyone tried ?

Hi Leeski, I'm an old timer and remember those discussions when they were new. I believe the idea cam from a style of growing used in Columbia and Southern Mexico. They would put a large nail through the stem...thus splitting it and then leave the plant to dry standing in the field. I doubt...

Mainlining my plants. How long should I veg?

BON, This is my first attempt at mainlining. I liked the sound of it since most training is done early on. I have almost completed mainlined plants vegging and will evaluate but I think they'll need at least a month and maybe more in the veg room. Far as defoliating...I did it occasionally...

GBauto...that looks like maybe Monstaercropping but it isn't a manifold...different training, similar goals... JD

    Unenthusiastic plants.

I lived in the mountains in southern New Mexico. Just south of Gila National Forest in Silver Ciity. Pretty dry there except during the very brief monsoon in early summer. But I missed the ocean...so now at sea level. Good luck with your grow. I'm day 2 of 12/12...a fairly unexciting time...

    Unenthusiastic plants.

Well good for you...hope it helps getting the room dialed in. I'm lucky to live where humidity is fairly high and so far...no correction to RH needed. JD

    Unenthusiastic plants.

Forbin, I assume that the small numbers represent leaf temp using some sort of infra-red sensor or some such thing. I only refer to the numbers on the vertical and horizontal axis. And those are room temp vertically compared to acceptable humidity for that temp. Keep it in the green. JD

    Unenthusiastic plants.

Ya I hope so... I'm posting a vpd graph. I've seen a half dozen around...the idea is that if you keep the temp/RH within the "zone" then plant transpiration can occur most effectively. JD
