    Club 315w lec

Hi guys and happy 4/20... They make a "conversion" ceramic MH bulb that uses mogul base and runs on MH ballast. I wouldn't try running a 315w on a 400 ballast though... JD

    What did you accomplish today?

I loved my old truck. 1970 3/4 ton Chevy...ran on propane or gas...I could switch from the cockpit. Had an Alaskan camper I could put on the back. Drove that thing all over US and Mexico. Ooops stoned... JD

    Whoa what is happening!!!

Ys...that's why I referred to it as the "ideal". I agree, better to have it drift down rather then up (as in overfeeding) Happy 4/20... JD

    What did you accomplish today?

Mornin' Leth...and happy 4/20, Ya life can be a bitch sometime. Hassles at work are the worst...but I'm retired so all that is behind me. Wanted to comment on trucks. Depending on how big a guy you are...the little mini pickups, especially the older ones, are practical, cheap and versatile...

    Watering coco coir

Good morning Erin...and happy 4/20, I up-pot coco all the time. I'm getting the hang of it. Trick is to let the roots fill the pot, wait till it's super dry and when I turn it upside down and slap the bottom...the whole intact rootball pops out with no damage to roots. I can't imagine that...

    Whoa what is happening!!!

Guy...the ideal with hydro is when the plant is using water and nutes at the same rate...in which case your EC will remain unchanged from res check to res check. And that's a good thing. JD

    What did you accomplish today?

Been broke for a week...money came in. Went to grocery store and bought a bottle of Tequila and some lotto tickets...then to the dispo for 1/8 of Blue Dream and a couple of grams of Kif. Solid days work... JD

What's going on with my White Siberian?

White strains in particular are Mg hogs. I grew WW full time for 3 years and I know. Either you aren't giving enough Mg or it's getting locked out. Use foliar Epsom salts for now and see what that does. I'll bet we're correct. When I grew the Widow...I used 1/4 tsp ES per gallon...

Top leaves turn brown and curl upwards

Hi Findus, I would not consider that to be normal...with all due respect to Jim. My first thought was light burn till I looked at the picture. I would not increase feeding. That's not the answer...though I would suggest bumping up Mg. I see dark tips, burning on the edges and interveinal...

    Watering coco coir

Erin, Damp coco doesn't hurt anything but best not to have it dripping wet. Just use lass water next time. Keep feeding the little gal and it'll work out. JD

    Hardwater?

Hi TF, You were expecting 0 ppm? I've had 3 or 4 different RO systems and never had one get water to 0. 11 ppm is excellent. My last one gave me water at just under 30 ppm which is not bad. Don't worry about the 11 ppm. JD

    Watering coco coir

Erin, When you put a small plant in a large pot...only water right around the plant. You already found out what happens when you saturate the whole pot. You received some good advice on drying. Good luck, JD

    Iron deficiency? Or Nitrogen?

Skoal, What you need more then anything is an attitude adjustment. Read the above posts...see that pattern? See a problem and throw more stuff at it. More problems are caused by too much rather then too little. I'm with Budzbuddha...forget the runoff. Get and keep the plant on a solid...

New grow hydroponic options for hot climate...

Good morning Justin, I hope you don't mind but I'd like to ask you a non-growing question. RUI is an international community and I see guys comment that where they live...grow stuff is hard to obtain. Why is that so? Shipping companies deliver manufactured goods all over the planet every day...

New grow hydroponic options for hot climate...

I think you're correct Justin. Before making a decision...go to whoever might have pea gravel and see what else they have. Maybe something a bit larger. Volcanic rock is actually more porous and lighter...would hold more moisture. Maybe you can find that. JD

New grow hydroponic options for hot climate...

If memory serves me...an old RUI member Al B. Fuct did rockwool ebb abd flow. It's usually used as a top drip medium but you work with what you can get. Pea gravel would work fine but it's heavy so harder to work with and the table would have to be super strong to support it. Cheers, JD

    Whoa what is happening!!!

It makes me feel like a grower dude. And organic growers don't have their own vodoo?? I was trying to be light hearted... JD

What to add to water when rehydrating Coco Brick

The coco and most media have what is called cation exchange capacity sites (CEC) and once those are ful...then that's it. Extra calmag won't just magically cling to the coco. The reason coco is buffered with ca++ and Mg++ is the double bonds that won't allow them to be bumped off by other...

    taking a lot of mushies

Why so much on the shrooms? MacKenna felt 3 grams was a totally effective dose. High tolerance? JD

    Whoa what is happening!!!

Draining half and filling it will drop ppm in half. Maybe just drain 1/4 and use a combination of ph down tap and bottled water to get your ph where you want it. @danjac82 Hey some of us like to mess with this stuff. And many organic grows are problematic too. So...take that! 8) JD
