You can still buy Camels too. Unfilltered for the macho macho men.
Buddy of mine is trying to quit. Here in Washington...with all the taxes...a pack goes for over $10...

Hi Kingbush,
When I first got into hydro...I used the EcoPlus 396 for no other reason then I liked the number. Big fan of the Chev big block 396.
As luck would have it...it was perfect for my need which was Ebb and Flow and was used as a submersible. It can also be used dry and mounted...
The plants were about knee high. This is back when I was a kid...mid-60s. Nobody smoked pot in my small town...nor did I till I moved to the big city a few years later.
Soil is rich river bottom farmland.

Gringrow,
Couple areas where stretch or lack thereof has been an issue. Back when I was using T5s for seedlings...I'd have problems once under 600w hps flowering lights. The top new growth would stretch considerably leaving the squat portion of the plant on the bottom. Like a fat little guy...
Hi Gringrow,
A certain amount of stretch seems to be inevitable. I'm using a 250w MH color temp 4000 or so at 24". Seems to allow them balanced grow. I had a 400w but it was too much. 10 years ago I used a T5-HO just 3" to 4" up and got nodes so tight...that they caused issues. So really I...
Hi Guys,
If human beings were able to cross the "ice bridge" from Russia to the New World...I'd certainly think a plant could have made it too.
Anyway...I grew up in Minnesota and we had ditch weed that was small in stature. Couple feet tall. We tried smoking it but never got high. Felt...
Does the paper come pre-soaked with magic germination solution? Sold!
I've often wondered why the whole paper towel thing evolved. I've come up with two theories. First...dudes that pop several hundred seeds at a time. A space saving thing. Then only seeds that germ get their own soil...
Hi Myke,
I agree with Major Blazer that any well designed hydro system should do equally well.
I've done both top drip via Waterfarm units, and flood and drain using hydroton. The Waterfarm unit works great for mid sized plant. Buckets aren't big enough for trees but can certainly handle a 3+...
Matt,
I just wanted to introduce you to another idea called "open pollination. It's a method breeders (and pollen chuckers) use when they have a group of plants from the same seed generation...like you do with your seedpack.
If you don't mind full pollination...just let nature take it's course...
Sure they are. Nugbuckets even had a section on using clones...just a little trickier due to alternate branching.
I actually think the Uncle Ben 4 cola topping method is just as good.
The whole manifold idea is that each cola gets treated equally by the plant....and they will all be equal...
Matty,
It's not a difficult process...and you'll be very pleased when you don't have to fork out cash for new seeds.
One little trick I've used over the years is to use clones for seed making. It's easy to move small plants around...so you can remove them from main flower room. You won't get...
Hi Mat,
What you are talking about is pollen chucking and not breeding. I'm in the middle of a seed crop right now so I'll tell you how I did it. I had several batches of breeder packs. Mr Nice dreamtime and some freebies. I ended up with 4 males and 6 female. I chose a male of known...
