It won't. You do not have the room for any sort of hps and hps will give you longer internodes. If your goal is just to veg plants then the t5 or a cheap blurple will give you shorter tighter plants.

I used to chop it all up and siv it with a garden siv . Until I came across that method. Cut out the core and plant straight into it and flush it, then crack on. I will still siv it once in a while.

They break down. Something like cannazym helps speed the process up. I got that information from the canna site, saved me breaking down and siving all my coco everytime. So far I've not had issues.

With a short veg time , probably 3s, but I like 5s when possible. If I'm filling 16square feet with one plant I'll use a 10. But mostly 4 square foot per plant 5gal is great, though i know some like smaller.
