    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

Well I dont know where I implied I put slop in my res, but I wasn’t asking if people are slime free.... I have an issue and am looking for some advice as to what it can be.

    DWC root issues

It was suggested I post up here for some possible help. I’m having some issues with my small DWC setup and my roots have a bad gunk issue. I would be greatly appreciative if some of you knowledgeable folks hop over to my original thread and help me out. I’d rather not spam up the forums...

Plant looks sick 2 weeks before harvest...

Ppm is parts per million. It’s the way we measure and quantify what we are putting into our grow. It also helps when trying to diagnose issues. Knowing how much nutes is going in helps figure out what you could be missing. I always write down everything I do to my room. Change light height...

Can anybody tell what this is?

Sure for veg maybe, but during flower? That’s gonna mess things up. Sulpher tasting nugs is like smoking match heads.

Plant looks sick 2 weeks before harvest...

I’m sure you can add a little of just N supplement or adjust your nutes a little and run the FF grow big. I see you said you’re running half strength bloom right now, maybe do half bloom and half grow next feed. You shouldn’t need too much nitrogen in the bloom phase. Some N def near harvest...

Plant looks sick 2 weeks before harvest...

Agreed, you def have more time than 2 weeks. I’d also suggest getting a ppm pen to know exactly the ppm of your feedings. Even in dirt it’s good to know what you’re giving your girls. (Just my opinion)

Plant looks sick 2 weeks before harvest...

That’s what makes me think nitrogen or lockout. Your bottom leaves look most affected. I said it could be lockout because only one of three has the issue. If it was low N in your feedings, I’d suspect all of em would show similar issues.

Plant looks sick 2 weeks before harvest...

I’m not a dirt grower so IDK the ramifications of feeding N this late in the game of flower. I’d maybe try and bump up the N a little on that one plant and see. Maybe do a flush with straight water and then re nute with a little higher N in the nute mix. I also see in the photos that some of...

Plant looks sick 2 weeks before harvest...

Looks like nitrogen def to me. Maybe a little underwatered.... Could be a nute lockout. Are you watering to the point of drainoff? If your just feeding a half gal and not letting water runoff I’d almost suspect lockout.

Can anybody tell what this is?

One thing that I had to do on a grow once was use potassium bicarbonate spray to control pm in my last few weeks of flower. It makes the ph on the surface of leaves unfavorable to pm and it will keep it at bay for a little bit. I would carefully remove most of the affected leaves, spray them...

Can anybody tell what this is?

Definitely looks like PM to me! What’s your room conditions? Are you having any temp or humidity swings?

    Light Stress or Deficiency?

I’d have to agree with cannacountry looks healthy but unhappy. I’d say a watering issue and/or the heat swings from 75 to 85. I had an issue that looked similar because I was running too much light and my BD clones were not happy. I turned off half my lights and stabilized my temps to stay under...

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

I do not run a cooler because my closet is in the cool side of my house. The room runs cold even with my LED’s so I have a heater in there to maintain room temp. Since the buckets are on the floor, they have stayed around 68ish° Once I saw it reach around 71° but it settled down to 68-69. I...

    Deficiencies

I’d have to agree, looks very similar to an issue I had a while back with an ebb and flow grow. That and/or calcium as well. Idk if it was coincidence but when I had a zink issue I also had a cal def as well. Just my half a cent!

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

It’s not Cyanobacteria though just like the title said..... that’s the issue. Diatoms = Eurakyotes Cyano. = Cyanobacteria

    Diatom hell! (Not cyanobacteria)

So I need some input from y’all. Here’s my setup 2 - 5gal DWC buckets. (Lowe’s blues then switched to blacks) Growstones as the medium. Active aqua 8l air pump running drip rings (pre roots in the water) switched to only air stones (when roots dropped into the water) Blue dream from seed in...

Freeze Drying Bud and Commercial Freeze Dryers

Between my room and work, the last few weeks have been a sleepless blur. Once everything is hanging or in the freeze drier, I’ll have time to seriously write some stuff. As a quick update and teaser, freeze dried nugs retain their size, so everything looks bigger. An oz of FD nugs looks like 2...

    Drying Buds ...Mold?

This is where I will have to acquiesce. As to how and what could fluoresce under UV on a nug is beyond me. Lol Common sense tells me that if it doesn’t smell, look, or taste funny, you’re probably ok. I have a x10-120 scope so I would look at it under a scope, if I didn’t see anything weird...

Freeze Drying Bud and Commercial Freeze Dryers

I am going to write up all the progress tomorrow (hopefully) once I have some time to sit down and breathe. But for now, I’m going to say you are on to something. One biggest difference between hang dry and freeze dry is that the freeze dried flowers stay preserved almost exactly as they were...

    Drying Buds ...Mold?

I think you’re fine. I’ve seen plenty of nugs that look like that. How hot and humid was the drying environment? It almost looks like stuff that I’ve set on my tv to “quick dry” or stuff I’ve gotten from people that dry/grow with higher heat. I think humidity plays a roll as well. I don’t see...
