ya CFLs would be better their is almost no way to hide a HPS setup from someone, i would go for like 250 watts and the carbon filter with a exhaust fan would work perfect but if you dont wanna spend that much just get some more PC fans i would put one fan on top and one or two on the sides this...

ya that would deal with heat issues but the plant will grow to about 1 and 1/2 feet in LST if you Veg for 2 months what kind of HPS setup are you getting? and are you setting the reflector on top of the box or inside of the box?

the Hps will be too big for that small of a room you might wanna consider CFLs for that small of a box or just make a bigger one and anyways CFLs would be better for Vegging because you can get the daylight 6500k spectrum which has the blue spectrum that plants need for Vegging hope this helps.

cutting the leaves will shock the plant and the plant will also use energy to repair the leaves instead of growing stem and getting bigger. So i would do like Tellno said and just tuck the leaves away.

try to keep the temps between 70F-80F 75F is the ideal to temperature to grow at. A good fertilizer too start with is floragro from general hydroponics you can start adding fertilizer when the plant looks like they need them start out slow only using about a quarter of the dose and work your way...

I checked them last night before i went to bed and they were barely cracking and then when I woke up they had germed I would say that the tap root was about a 1/4 inch though it was just growing in a circle though.

i decided to plant it because it had a long taproot about 3cm, it had been germinating for exactly 82 hours so i think it was time.

the second NH seed is germinated but the tap root is not growing straight is growing around the seed so which way do i plant the tap root?

I put mine in a plastic bag next to a heater set at 70F i was shocked that the seeds took 72 hours to germ and only took about 12 hours to sprout from the soil the other 2 seeds that i saved look they will germinate as they have started cracking I'm guessing humidity might have just been high...

No i don't have a heating mat yetbut i will be getting a seedling mat from Osh hopefully today, the Nevilles haze sprouted its other 2 leaves this morning so all is well, but is it really worth investing in the seedling mat? will it increase seedling growth?

Update: I dug up the seeds and 2 of them didn't break the shell the rest looked dead so i scraped them and I decided to also germinate 2 neville's haze seeds purchased from a seed bank the Haze seeds have already broke the soil and the 2 Auto Assassin seeds are still germinating in a paper towel...

ok so if the seeds went through about a day of dryness would they be considered dead by now, None of the seeds have Sprouted yet and out of 12 I thought at least one would have sprouted.

thanks for the help i decided I'm going to turn off the lights until they sprout hopefully this will help them keep more moisture in also because i have had problems the last couple days with the soil drying out very fast even to the point where i have to water them 3 times a day. Is there any...
