yea its so close to the water that the bubbles are soaking the bottom of the pot. should i make a new res. and keep the pot above the lid? instead of in the lid.
A deeper res. that has an air gap for the roots is a good idea.
As far as the schultz goes never used it

solution.jpg it has a good gap between the water and pot now, its not sinking in anymore. hopefully this will work.

thanks polecat. here's some +rep

you can see the excess water sitting on the top of container to the left of the plant there is a puddle.....lay off the water, research your medium

I recently started DWC and have been using hydroton. I have read that some people have actually grown in just hydroton, but not recommeded. Using soil in a DWC will not work. Go buy a 3inch net pot they are about 2.00 max and fill it with hydroton or something similar (I may be super wrong but I read that someone used gravel like what is used in playgrounds, but I have also read that the sharp rock edges may damage the roots). You have the idea down just need to use a different medium, soil will no work. A platic net pot will work perfect.
You also have to make a light proof resivor dont not let any light get into the res. and put an air stone on the end of that air hose they are about a 1.00. You will eventually need a much larger res. a 3gallon buket eventually. You will also need some kind of nutrients solution, to feed them. But use plain tap water till you have about 3 or 4 sets of true leaves.

+ for drowning.

Time for a complete overhaul. Way too small for 4 1/2 weeks.

Look at it this way: it's not thriving-- it's staying alive.

you're definitely over watering i think. That yellow looks like it's caused by overwatering and you might want to change out for a bigger pot soon. It wouldn't be a bad idea to do that within the next day or two.

What has been happening Austin?

I am also a fan of the DWC? You have some kind of soil DWC hybrid. I wouldn't do it. But I like it.

survivor.jpegthere are many preflowers... some leaves are screwed. theres been two new sets of leaves since i posted this plant.
survivor bad pic.jpeg the bottom 2 leaves have no chance, but hopefully the plant will keep growing and ill get some nice smoke out of it!
