G'day guys, im was rolling up a J to spark up in my room tonight, and i remember hearing that you guys dont smoke with what we call 'roaches. its a piece of cardboard rolled up and put in like a filter in a cigarette. Was wondering if many people over there do? I buy a pack of filter papers cheaper than papers, and its reall thin cardboard in a booklet. i'll chuck up some pics

I had a friend who used those but most people don't. Here a roach is the tiny piece of leftover joint that is too small to smoke so we have save it for a rainy day, unroll it to and put in a bowl.

i use the exact same raw filters as you do. i double them over though cause they are too wide in my opinion. i get them in a combo pack with the raw papers which i like. i even have that same rolling machine.

Back in the day I never saw a single joint that had any kind of filter whatsoever. We just used rolling papers and weed, that's it...

I have never used a filter with weed. I guess I am trying to figure out why I would want it filtered in the first place. Maybe I am just too old! Lol

I do it not so much for the filtering but to keep the end of the joint from sticking together with resin, making it harder to puff when it's smaller.

Brown tipped fingers were a rite of passage when I first started smoking....kids...

It was in Australia when I first used a match book rolled up as a crutch/roach-clip.

Edit: damn, that was 40 years ago.

When it got too small we'd use an alligator clip, fire it all and snort the smoke, all that resin gave one last intensive nasal hit
