i'm not sure what the windscreen stuff is. It could possibly be mylar. But then again it could be something similar to aluminum foil (or tin foil not sure what it's called in Aus), & foil is not a good substitute for mylar as it can cause hotspots that can burn plants. have you considered just going to a hydroponics store or ebay or something to just order some 2mil or 4mil double sided mylar?

Dont mess around with that reflective dollar store crap, find some panda plastic, its pretty rugged plastic, black on one side, white on the other, you should be able to find it at a hardware store, grow shop etc...

Really? The panda plastic reflects less the 60% light.... (if you shine a light at it is it really 40% dimmer then the flat white wall its next to?)

Seriously what made you say that? Panda plastic is awesome, mylar is hard to hang and it creases and tears easily. It all has its uses, panda plastic is lightproof in addition to being highly reflective....

HTGsite:

Used in growing areas - this is waterproof poly film that is black on one side & white on the other. Also known as Panda film, the white side is very reflective (over 90%) and can be used on the walls and floor of your growing area to reflect light back to plants and reduce algae growth on walls. The black side provides a light-resistant partition. Our poly is provided on easy to use ROLLS and is now improved, with an extra heavy duty 6 mil thickness that is stronger and more lightproof.
So has it just sucked in your experience or what?

And ES, if you....."drop a light down in that shit" the shit might burn. Regardless you always waste light, people who use reflectors waste less, there is no argument about that.
