BROAD MITE infestation

This is my broad mite problems and solutions. Looking for other peoples experience and solutions. First off these things are the biggest pain to get rid of. You are most likely going to have to learn how to garden with these. In this post i will post pics of my infected plants along with my future plans to prevent this horrible CCTD (clone collective transmitted disease). Obviously not all cases are from clones but many are. The first step in prevention GROW FROM SEED. I encourage all new growers like myself to grow from seed and then take your own clones. AVOID all clone delivery services. Clone queen is garbage. 8 clones all had bugs and broad mites. They do have a way to resolve this but this takes time plus if you cant get me good clones in the first place i dont want them at all. Use as many preventive measures as possible. As i am a newbie i learned the hard way but always budget about 100-200 on some natural miticide pesticide and insectides for prevention. In worst cases use forbid 4f but this does not always work. I use azamax as a base then rotate about 10 other organic miticide pesticide and inectides to prevent any bugs. My first grow was going great. I had some great jedi kush and larry ogs. I had gotten them at the clinic and ocpc. Plants looked great all through veg until i introduced two new clones. They were purple elephant clones from ocpc. Stupid newb me didnt realize how come bugs are in the growing spectrum of weed. Sadly enough these had broad mites but i did not know. About a week later all my plants looked like shit. Got some forbid and it wiped them out. Harvest was good super pleased with forbid. But tht STUFF IS NASTY avoid at all costs unless its an emergency. Seocond crop is some clones from clone queen. Complete garbage couldnt get rid of the broads no matter what i did. Threw them away and started over. Caliornia clone collective delivered my next batch. I inspected and yes broad mites! got a nice deal on them. Dunked them in forbid and put in my clone dome for a week. Inroduce them to my tent and add 10000 predatory mites. All was looking good up until week 3...broadmites are back. Throw the plants away and took down my tent and now im waiting. Im going to wait about 1 month. I am going to sprout some seeds and go from there. I am planning on uses all organic stuff this time. Im using azamax along with a slew of other things. If you want the list let me know. IM looking for other peoples input and solutions.. PLEASE invest in a little 30 dollar handheld microscope. Up until i had one i was chasing the mystery deficiency. Under the micrscope they look like pin head size transparent balls these are the eggs. I still havent found anything that 100 percent works. Im hoping with my prevwntive measures i can get a good crop this time and not worry about those stupid and expensive chemicals. Hope this can help some people.

here is how i am getting rid of them. all finished plants get trimmed and all trim is immediately thrown away. the trim bin is hot washed with bleach along with pots. all hanging plants, i check where I cut for the little bastards with 60x micro and burn them as they climb to the top. In veg. used forbid4f, then treat every time I water with neem. Occasionally some ultimate wash. all Saucers have tanglefoot around the lip to prevent them from walking across floor to other plants. I stopped sticking my watering wand into every pot rubbing the eggs and bugs all over each one. all bamboo is used once and thrown away. I try to keep clean plants away from anything that may be infected. i don't take other peoples clones in. I make my own. I clean everything regularly with bleach and water, Including the walls as they will walk across those to another plant. Vigilance is paying off as I am starting to get 100% clean plants that finish properly. In a perpetual garden. It is the only way.

Mites suck, There's a bunch of threads on here about them
a Broadmite and a Spidermite are 2 different animals. The broadmites are microscopic and if you don't know about them. You will wonder what the fuck is going on with your plants as they wilt away and die. You need at least 60x mag to see them.

I always advise noobies and oldies alike to avoid clones for this very reason, all you are doing is buying other growers issues, and broad mites are no different, consider yourself lucky to have the brains to logically id and correct the issue ..although 24-36 hours quarantine is common sense few growers have 2 grow areas, and sooner than later the new clones will sit in with the growing batch and wreak havoc ..
For this reason I hit my plants often with the organic Neem Oil, broad mites chew the neem and blocks up the mouth parts real quick, 1 teaspoon to a pint spray bottle fill with warm water shake and spray 2x times per day does wonders ...good post and welcome to RIU

I once toyed with the idea of creating a UV-C sterilising chamber from a cardboard box and a flouro fixture.

Never actually got around to doing it but this could be a cool way of getting rid of ANY plant dwelling pest.

If I remember right it was around a 15minute exposure time for plants per day.

Urban garden magazine had an article on it once but I doubt you'd find now the magazine has ceased publishing.

uhh were they simply surface sterilizing the grow room with UV C (without plants) or were they treating live plants as well? I really wouldnt go blasting my plants with UV C.......

Broad mites are the worst no way to get rid of them they live within the plant when you spray u only kill whats on the outside. .after you get these little fuckers ur going to be wishing they were spidermites. ....they get carried from plant to plant by flys a grip of them catch a ride on the flys legs the new growth will be twisted. The bud will be worthless worse then stress weed from mexico not even smokeable all you can do is fight them off and hope you can get something out of the infested tree's if your flowering all you can do is invest in a shitload of sm90 drench that mutherfucker...if your plants are in a pot you can submerge your entire plant in 100 degree water for ten to 20 minutes ..my plants where in the ground so I was pretty much fucked. ..like I said they live inside the plant they burrow their way into the stems...

No they actually gave plants a UVC bath.

The warning about it was to not let yourself be exposed to the light.

Plants however apparently can withstand certain periods of exposure.
