I have a 4x2x6 closet set up to grow and was curious if a 400w mh and 2 48" full spectrum floros could grow a personal supply from start to finish. This is my first time growing.

are you going to get a hps bulb? and how many plants are you going to grow?

You will be fine,if you don't have the money for an hps bulb get 2700k-3000k color temp. for your fluorescent fixture. You can find them at wal-mart.They have a 360 watt hps conversion bulb that fits on mh ballast.

those lights you have are both for vegitative growth. your going to have to get a hps bulb. i recommend using the mh lamp fixture for the hps bulb. (for flowering, but only if the fixture is a covertable, if not your oging to have to get a whole hps lamp set up), and then the 2 48" full spectrum floros for vegitative growth.

He doesn't need to get a new ballast if his ballast is mh \.He can grow just fine with the lighting he has.Maybe not as well as if he had hps but better than cfls that for sure.

Ultra Ace conversion lamps are HPS lamps that operate on Metal Halide systems. Transforms a one-dimensional Metal Halide lighting system into a complete growing system. Provides optimum Red spectral energy required for flowering. These lamps are environmentally friendly and pass EPA, TCLP test criteria as non-hazardous waste.

i want too but its not in the budget rigth at the moment. i plan on growing no more than five.
If you don't have the budget for a conversion bulb, you can grow fine bud with MH. MH actually grows higher quality bud, but the yield won't be a good.

I'd start them under the floros in a separate area, and use the other area for flowering only. Perpetual grow harvesting 1/4 Lb per 2 - 3 months
