Lots of different stocks to choose but I think the boom may be long over. Looks like it was best to invest around 2017/18 and be cashed out before the crash (2020)

But what do I know

Yes- but don’t. They have been mostly duds.
If you do don’t go long, cash out if you profit
I had the same thought 6 years ago or so.
See whal 1k would turn into. Started out ok.
Last I checked the account was negative $28

Yeah, I figured it's probably not worth it. Though I bet if I buy now and wait a year I would make something...but not much.

true.
lost a couple K on 2. broker had to go thru Canada to buy them.
one is worth less than the cost to dump it. the other is hovering around 1% of original investment.
best bet IMO is the "support" businesses; fan makers, tent makers, home grow equipment makers/suppliers, etc.
I bought some inexpensive equipment a few years ago, really liked it and figured out it was a publicly held company.
makes it easier to rationalize that next grow equip. purchase.

Yes- I believe some of the richest 49ers actually didn’t dig for gold- they sold picks and shovels

got a TD Ameritrade account, used to be Scottrade, it'll be something else soon.
no cost for buy/sell reg stocks, 1 or 100,000 shares.
the cannabis ones were pink paper or something, I forget. cost $7 each end.
only other costs have been very small "bookkeeping" types like when a stock splits

.
