developing red stems while in flower

hi people so im more interested in your thoughts on the matter over a fix for it

so ive been flowering for around 5 weeks. the entire grow up until a few days a go ive had no red in my stems at all. now i am seeing red showing up along the tops of the leaves stem . not the entire plant just like 1/4
my understanding is when red is showing up on that part of the leaves stem its lacking in cal mag what i have been adding every time and i keep my ph in rage 6 to 6.4. so now i am wondering is the plant needing more because shes in mid flower.
i have been running very light on my A+B bloom nutrients at around 450ppm plus cal mag running the 700 scale i think lol
i just double that on my last res change today so im now feeding around 900ppm plus cal mag. call mag is 150ppm

i run dwc
humidity stays in the 50%
temps go 77 lights on 68 off
res temps say cool although i don't know exact numbers

so my thoughts are ether she needs more cal mag and nutrients or its getting too cold

Probably beginning of (P) deficiency. Could be ph, but since yer in hydro and monitoring ph I'd say up you should up yer flowering nutes a few notches and it should clear up.
Happy growing, when you say one quarter of the growth is is the top or bottom growth of the plant? If it's the top it's probably immobile if it's the older growth definitely a p problem.

I agree with P def.


However red stems can come from drastic temperature changes, I think what happens is it nutes become harder to move at certain temperatures but I have not looked into this fully it is only my speculation.

Do you have only one thermometer?

You likely don't need all that much calcium and can do with the SO4 instead.
Excess Calcium leads to an inability to take up what you are tryin g to get now.

I think sometimes red stems can be a sign of stress, or maybe that’s purple.

I get red stems sometimes. It could be genetics or it could be something else. At five weeks into flower if the plant is otherwise looking healthy and growing good I wouldn't do anything drastic or start chasing deficiencies by dumping a bunch of stuff on your plants.

There’s a bunch of white stuff all over the leaves lol

Seconding this. Excess Ca and/or K will lock out Mg and P. But, as other's have said it could sometimes be a genetic thing.

If the only thing you're seeing is red petioles then it is likely just genetic.

If the red petioles are a new development and you also notice Mg deficiency, it's likely just lockout. The fact you're using CalMag makes me suspect this, most people that use CalMag never actually need it and it typically just makes things worse.

Sometimes the light is to close to a plant and can make the stems on the leaf a little red.
If that is the case it will only be the top leaves.

For me, a classic magnesium def will almost always have those purple-blue splotches..

one of the strains i grow does this every time

others do it only sometimes

maybe it is a mild mag def but i always feed all my plants

i have learned not to worry about it.

People usually do more harm than good chasing minor plant issues. I don't worry about much more than heat, cold, or high humidity late in flower. Other than that, most things usually work themselves out or don't cause much problem and don't require any intervention.

i have been going light on my bloom what i just upped so could be a bit low on potassium

i have 2 and my ph and pm meters both show my water temps when i test most the time its 20 c to 22 c but i never test that to often only when i top off my res in the mornings. i have a feeling its a lack of pk as my buds are rather small for ow long they have been flowering

its only the top leaves and i did just move my lights down to 18 inches but that's not too close
