Disasterous Day

Having spent last night and most of today taking care of my grandchildren ( mum did the nightshift ) I went shopping, cleaned the house I thought I would have a look on RIU, but the internet kept telling me that I wasn't connected! My original thought was the baby had turned the power off on the modem but when checking I discovered the whole thing was dead even though it was plugged in and turned on. I then discovered that everything was dead the kettle the fridge the lot, I checked the fuse box to find the trip switch had gone and I couldn't reset it, it just wouldn't turn on. I rang my husbands brother he has an electrical business he said it was a faulty appliance that was throwing the switch so he got me to unplug everything in the house, but that still didn't work. The only appliances that were left plugged in were in the attic! so I had no choice but to go up their to take a look whilst he was standing their, as I opened the attic door the smell of burning was terrible, he immediately flew past me to see what was burning, it was in fact my light in the tent. His face was a picture he just couldn't believe what he was seeing but he didn't say a word, he just unplugged everything removed the light from the tent and simply said its knackered. He got the power back on and left, my ladies are rather large and have just started to get pistels on them so I 'm not happy the light as packed in although I will replace it tomorrow, my worry right now is what's going through my brother in laws mind and why did he not say anything about what he saw. He's coming up to retirement and is very straight and proper in all that he does, and I think he was so shocked he was speechless. So his opinion of me has no doubt changed he now thinks I'm a drug baron.

That would be a scare for sure. Hopefully he didn't say anything because he is just going to pretend like he didn't see it at all.

I'm not sure he thinks anything bad. Breast cancer -> chemotherapy -> nausea -> cannabis could be his thought process. Now go smoke LOL.

That's pretty shitty granny. Is everything safe with the rest of the set-up? Just a bad light? Tell him it was catnip and you've gone nuclear crazy cat lady. You'll have to get a bunch of cats to finish the prestige though.

Yea everything else seems okay just the light seemed to be the problem, I got a new one today along with a smoke alarm for the attic hopefully everything will be okay now. I don't want to end up a roasted Granny! so I thought a smoke alarm was a good idea. As for my brother in law still not a word said about what he saw and he phoned today to make sure the power was still on. :o I know what he's thinking though, my husbands family say my husband was a nice owd lad until he met me! The cheek of it. :weed:

Aww I would have said something to break the awkwardness and questioning going on in your head. I would have asked what he thought about the plants or something else off the top of my head to see how he reacts/responds.

Like the second guy said though... hopefully they were just quiet because they aren't going to say anything to anybody.

Call him back and ake him if he could come over and check ALL your home made wiring and say
"I should know better and asked you for help so this kind of thing wouldn't of happened"

Yep, best to get it all out in the open now even though it will be uncomfortable for everyone.
