Do the ladies like a moist/humid environment on occasion? Or consistent RH...

Question for the crowd... do most/all of you keep RH consistent in your grow tent? Different for veg/flower of course...

I overheard someone say out loud that they alter RH levels artificially. That on occasion, their ladies prefer a "moist" environment. That "it's a good idea to change RH to echo real life environments" which change all the time.
Is there science to support this?

yea its called VPD
Good tip! I'm reading about VPD now. A lot of free info on the science is available. I'll adopt!

I shoot for as low as it will go in flower and could care less in veg.
There has to be a RH threshold (in flower) that is determental. You don't let your grow tent go total desert in flower do you? As in, low 30s or in the 20s for RH? I've kept things in the low 40s and the results positive.

Perfect frosty flowers with zero Botrytis.
Humidity gets up over 50% in winter and we see some then on the denser flowers.

Your point is important... however, there is science to support some dew is good.
I'm of the belief that any amount of dew on flower (esp in the later stages) is a bad thing. Prove me wrong!
outdoors maybe not but indoors if you dont have good ventilation in one corner you can get mold easy and we dont want that

Nature is a mess, dry and hot summer in veg then humid, rainy and cold for flower. Obviously she knows nothing about vpd.
yeah true but growing inside under a grow light is not nature, and being at the mercy of the weather is not a factor, inside you have the ability to optimize the environment 24 hours a day so trying to mimic less then perfect outdoor conditions is shooting yourself in the foot when you have the control to make it perfect 24/7

You make a great point, and at the end of the day... we want our girls "fat and happy".
Still, just playing devils advocate... some things do better when challenged. They grow stronger than ever if made to work harder.
Just saying...

sure applying stress can be beneficial but even the stress that the plants receive should be under our control, as simple as adding a uvb lamp can add beneficial stress for example

Rh is a limiting factor. Keep it on point of you want optimal growth.

Anything you can do to make the plants processes easier, will let the plant put more energy into bud growth.
