First CFL grow (and first at all)

This is my first grow attempt using a stealth rubbermade container setup.
30 Gallon Container
Power Strip with 4 23watt-100watt eqiv daylight bulbs
Intake an exhaust fans built into sides
Aluminum Tape lining.
(pics soon)

So after some germinating trouble i got 4 new bagseeds out of a fresh bag and decided to stick em right in the soil and start 24 hour light, plant the seed the old fashioned way.

I think i gave it enough water to start but im not sure, im using solo cups, i don't know how much to water exactly right when the seed is planted. Temps look good though, sittin pretty between 75 and 85. Humidity says dry although i don't know how important that is. How long til sprout do you guys think and how often and how much should i water before it sprouts.

still waiting to get my hands on a camera, so damn anxious for these things to sprout, i hope they do soon. I've studied up pretty well on most things i need to know. Just a little confusion on watering because everyone and everywhere seems to have a different opinion. I watered them pretty good last night, soils still mostly moist, and i added drainage holes and a tray which i forgot to do. So i shouldn't need to water til tomorrow night im assuming, just patiently waiting now.

Sweet. So i randomly remembered the 16 seeds from my germ attempt were still sitting in my dresser in a bag and paper towel so i pulled them out and 2 of them were germed! Finally hahaa, so i had a look at my developing plants, 1 seed was nowhere to be seen (probably cause i knocked it over a couple times :( ), so i replaced that one, unconvered one that wasnt germed yet replaced that one. The third in the soil was geremed so i left it. And the forth i barely uncovered, its about to sprout, showing some green, pretty excited :). Getting a hold of a camera tomorrow.

Day 3 of grow:
Finally got pictures, not the best quality but decent phone pics.
Before anyone mentions it by the way, I did have the soil up to the top of the cups but as time passed and i finger checked the soil it always seems to lower. Maybe there is something you can do to prevent this but I am new so i dont know.

Also the pic of the third seedling (barely visible i have it circled in red), seems unhealthy or like somethings wrong with it, maybe not ill try to get another pic.

Tips and feedback would be appreciated :D

Also I would like to know a good pot size to transplant to. I plan on keeping all the females (hopefully i get some in general) ditching the males to avoid pollinations, and growing the females to about a foot and doing a lot of LST on them so i can get a decent yield with the space i have. Its a 30 gallon rubbermade container. Like 2.5 x 1.5 feet i would guess are the dimensions.

I'd say for small plants, try to get squat, wide containers 1.5-2 gallons. 2.5 feet height isn't alot to work with once you factor in the height of the pot and the room the lights take up. Maybe some big tuperware from the Dollar store, just black it out to prevent light hitting the roots and drill some drainage holes.

Yeah this is exactly why i plan on doing a lot of LST.
Thats the length and width by the way. The height also isnt much more than that probably but its a bit more.
How do you do transplants?

And when would you say its safe to start LST? 3 or 4 nodes im guessing because of my height constraints.

You can start LST as soon as the roots grab, just be GENTLE. Most people wait, but I've seen some VERY young seedlings LST'd. Personally, I didn't start until one of my plants started getting taller than the other...Different Strains...As for transplants...I've heard water good the night before, then prepare your pots with soil, don't pack the soil down, dig holes the size of the cups they're in now. Cover the cup with your hand, letting the stem go in between your fingers, turn upside down and pat the bottom of the cup till the soil comes loose. Then put it in the hole you prepared in the pot, and water the new soil, regular water is fine, or maybe with some vitamin B or superthrive or whatever. Good to Grow!

Thanks all the help is much appreciated! Cant believe you can start LST at seedling, ill probably start that once theyre at least an inch tall or so.

Day 5:
So tired, but heres my progress.

Biggest one so far, hoping its a girl.

Some experimental seedling LST

A little stretching :(, but taking care of it.

More Stretching :'(

Don't think i'm doing too bad.
Started 16/8 light opposed to the 24/0 i was doing until today.
Hoping to start 12/12 in a month or so if everything goes well.

I don't think im going to use any nutes besides molasses during flowering.
Im using Miracle grow Organic Soil, and Perlite.
These are said by some to cause burning as is, but i havent noticed any yet so im not gonna risk it
by adding more nutes.

feedback and tips always welcome and appreciated.

SHITTTT. My exhaust fan blew out over night apparently and the temps were over 100!! I fudgged another one in and the plants didnt look burnt or dry so i just sprayed the leaves a bit. hoping its fine

They look fine, looks like you caught the temp at the right time. I know what you mean though, my adapter for ALL 3 OF MY FANS burnt out...didn't realize till next day when i took pics haha. Looking good though
