you could turn off the sprayers for a day almost and plants in a aero would still be fine.

I have built some rubbermaid boxes back in the day with aero sprayers that only came on for 15 mins 8 times a day.

well it was more like a sprinkler box than aero as true aero needs atomized foggers.

Don't forget the Liquid Karma!
Yes. these measurements will give you 2900 PPM at about 15 Gal. You need a PPM meter that goes to 3000 PPM. I found one made by Liquatec (PM-3000) on Fleabay for $15. You have to buy one! Don't start at 2900 PPM. Start at 500-700 PPM and work your way up over a couple of weeks.

what do you think of this one?

I just started building my set up today im siked waiting for pump/sprayers/ and net cups in mail. from your picture the hose attachment confuses me, I dont see why you just have one valve? dont you want to stop water from going to sprayers with one valve and then have another you can open to attach hose ? it looks like you open your valve and the water still goes to sprayers then comes out to hose? at least thats how it looks in pic

It looks like that meter will work. You need a PPM meter that goes to 3000PPM and that one goes to 9999!

The water does keep running to the sprayers but it's no big deal. You can only drain down to about 3 inches of water anyway. If you go any further the pump will go dry and burn up. That's one of the reasons why I fill and flush twice for every res change.

I am adding picks of my plants and my process on my aeroponic set up, The plants are in Miracle grow soil mixed with perlite, I dont add any additional nutes, they seem to be content. I will be moving to aero for next grow. the tent is 56" by 56" and i got it at HTG supply on ebay I also bought a hydro hut that is 4' by 4' but it is way to small and not as good quality. stinkbud just waiting for the pump and sprayers now .

I was wondering why people use water chillers? I am assuming it speeds growth or the water gets two warm in a aero system, what about just adding ice to reservoir? Would be alot cheaper

Great looking plants DrNugs, I don't have any experience with aero or hydro as I am a soil grower. I do know that your plants are looking nice though. Good luck on the grow.

Cooler water holds more Oxygen. Roots love cold/cool water. Warm water = root rot!

Hopefully you won't need a chiller. The water should stay a little below room temp if you use a cycle timer. Since the pump only runs for 1 min on and 5 mins off, the water stays cool. Most of the guys that need water chillers are either running a big pump, running the pump 24/7 or the room is hot. You would also need a bigger pump if you run a chiller because of the lost water pressure from the chiller.

If you're res temp is high that might mean your room is too hot. All my lights are sealed and vented to my attic. I run my lights at night to keep the temps down. Heat is always a problem when you run a lot of light so you have to do everything possible to keep it down. My flower room runs about 78 degrees. My water at that temp stays about 68.

With the electricity that a chiller would use you could run a small A/C unit that would keep both the room and water cool. Price would also be cheaper for A/C.

hey stinkbud did you glue your end caps on the fence post? I was just wondering if that would make it a bitch to clean out the roots after the grow?

I used clear silicone on one end only. I leave the other end open.

The roots all come out together. It gets messy so I have a container near by to put the roots in. You can reuse the net pots and neoprene sleeves after cleaning. I flush with a little bleach and and wipe everything down. It's also a good time to clean/replace the sprayers.

Ganjagoddes-

Just to add my 2 cents. I'm a patient as well as a caregiver. Look at your state laws and see what it says in regards to caregivers. I have 10 patients that I caregive for so I can assume responsibility for their plants. They CANNOT pay me for the product, however they can 'reimburse' me for expenses. You get what I'm trying to say there. There's a lot of ambiguity, talk to a lawyer if you have the money, if not do the research yourself. In all honesty, if you are just smart about what you are doing, cops will not even come in the picture, plus it's not so much state cops, it's the feds and you have to be pretty big time to get on their list. If you're in cali. read up on AB2743, this is going to make things a lot easier for us!

Looking good. Destroy those spidermites FAST. They spread like wildfire..bomb them with pyrethrum if you need to. A soap bath on your clones would be a good idea. Make sure they don't get em.
