First time grower - watering question

what up what up my fellow hippies!! The generosity of growers is unbelievable and I hope I can provide expert level info back soon.
So, my neighbor grows and came over before I watered.
Before this, I was using XL McDonald’s cups (2-3) and had no issue. My neighbor said I needed to wet the entire soil and water everyday - I think he’s full of ish because my plants tips are all pointing down and the leaves are dark green. I’m sure she’s gonna be just fine (it started raining so I have an umbrella over them because I think it will hurt my girls with too much water. Also, both have a runoff catcherI’ll show pics.

question:Do I need to soak all the soils or just water till runoff or do I do what I was doing - right before too dry I would water her 3 times a day and it was good.

avoiding water is an issue now with rain - but the umbrella shouldn’t kill all sunlight.

I’m not giving her food cause I can’t pull the trigger like a pu*** - I do have Big Bud 0-1-3 or MaxiGro 10-5-14 - bat guano and worm castings as well as top soil for potential amendment.
ANYTHING will help guys. Especially the water and Nutes. I have posted on Nutes but not what I have on hand so there it is.

thanks guys y’all are so dope!!

I like top dressing with fox farm fruit and flower 4-9-3. Easy and effective. And yes, it is better to water thoroughly and wait until dry before watering again.

Leave her in full sun.Use a balanced fertilizer until buds start stacking.1/2 strength at first.Water complely and then wait for pot to lighten before watering again. Also a few trails from leaf miners GL
Kk she went into preflower yesterday (younger one) she shot up ^^^^^ so an even 5-5-5? Sorry for the questions I have an OCD issue and am very focused on details that’ll best result. I need to read about nutrients to better understand them.
Also, she’s in full sun :) been in the 60s past 2 days ahh!! It’s going back to the 90s today :))

Yes ,feed the 5-5-5 until she stops stretching and starts stacking. She needs the balance until growth slows and flowering really begins

Seems no one wants to sound more newb and suggest a moisture meter but I will. With over watering and lack of understanding, a simple moisture meter will at least give you something to go by....ya gotta know what's happening in the root zone and finger sticks don't do that.
Even though I grow in small containers...easy to 'feel' weight, but I like to KNOW since autoflowers especially don't like drying out. Still havta remember they'll handle a drought better than a flood.

You need a moisture meter and take notes about data, when you water, how much you water, and what you add to the water. Make yourself a ledger page. Plant looks good.

Is this for veg and bloom?
Yes, I use it all the way through. I mix my soil with perlite, fruit and flower 4-9-3, and worm castings. Then top dress with the 4-9-3 and worm castings once a month. I also use a little bio thrive bloom during flower, but don’t know if it’s really necessary.

Moisture meter, honestly I would even bust out the scale for fully dry or saturated pots so I get a better idea as you get a feel for picking up the pots to check.

You want to let them dry a little between waterings. It will cause the roots to expand in search of water. Over watering is easier to do than under-watering imo
I’ve been doing this sometimes I wait a little too long but it won’t kill her - water log can cause mildew pests all that n def. Can kill her

Oh yeah ... great suggestion. I ain't no noob and still use it when it's scheduled water day. $20 for the meter and a few extra seconds to check the medium is a really small price for peace of mind.
Bro I’m a newb and I just got a 3-1 - eased my mind on my soil’s Ph
