It takes longer time getting them, but I've always preferred snail-mailing a money order. If the seed site accepts green cash as well as money orders, I would always choose the money order. It doesn't surprise me about pre-paid cards are cutting out international transactions.

you can get them to work international(some of them) you have to call the company after you register it to your name to tell them that you are placing an international order so they can activate it for that. i believe it can be done with greendot.

My Visa gift card works internationally, just picked one up so I don't have to use my debit card again and all I had to do was call the number on my card and request to use it overseas. Some paper came in the mail and as soon as they received it back from me after I signed it I was good to go. Took about 2 weeks from first call requesting it.

In hindsight gift cards now don't give you any more anonymity then using your own credit or debit, all the info I had to give up is almost the same info my bank has on me.

Check with the seed bank in question. Most of them take wire tranfer that can be done with your bank account but unlike a debit card purchase it does not track the item purchased. It is a blank fund transfer. Whereas a debit card purchase will log the actual item purchased.

I use a greendot card for all my seed purchases. works fine.
