Considering that you are new to growing a pure sativa might not be the best way to go even though you would like to grow a sativa.
A sativa/indica cross that is predominantly sativa would likely be a better option for you. Also in that you are new the chance of making errors while growing is increased compared to an old hand so picking something less expensive to learn with but still something where you will end up with something pretty darn good is also something that might be well worth considering.

Green House Seeds Lemon Skunk won 1st place in the High Life competition in 2006. It is a sativa/indica cross that is predominantly sativa, and one phenotype would make you swear it is totally sativa. It is easy to grow but you do have to be ready for and capable of being able to deal with a sequoia tree height plant unless you throw them into flower very early in vegging. If not you will run out of growing height and you will outgrow your lighting capabilities.

Normally I veg to about 18 to 20 inches using a MH so I did the same and in 15 or 17 days of flowering my Lemon Skunk shot up four feet. As soon as I switched to 12/12 – HPS it took off faster than an Ethiopian who just heard there is a free all you can eat steak and lobster buffet in the next village over.

I asked another member here who said they had grown Green House Seeds Lemon Skunk and he said instead of the normal two to three times increase in height during flowering his jumped up four to five times in height.

I would rate the high as being very good. Not fantastic but still very good and considering the price I would say it is a good value for your dollar and it would give you something that is easy to grow, as long as you are ready and capable of dealing with the possible height, and give you a mostly sativa high.

As long as you throw them into flower very early, and are not growing in an area with a very limited amount of height, you should not outgrow your available height or outgrow your lighting capabilities, that is unless your lighting would be inadequate for growing any strain other than dwarf strains. Also topping a time or two or using some other method to control the height and you should be fine.

You just have to know what you will be facing and be ready to deal with it.
