Goofing around with a clone

I trimmed up a couple plants yesterday and one of the trimmings I took had a couple small shoots off of it so I figured I'd monkey around and see if I could get it to root for practice when I do clones. I was working with what I have.

1 qt Mason jar, band, and lid
1 small (4oz i believe) jelly Mason jar and band
1 small (2" i believe) netpot
1 foam collar

I cut the stem at a 45 and scraped the bottom half inch or so of the stem as well. I placed it in the collar and the. Squeezed that into the top of the net pot. I then placed that in the jelly jar and held it against the edge so the band actually pinched the net pot in place to keep it from floating up and/or tipping. I filled that jar with ro water. Placed the small jar on the upside down lid and band for the quarter jar. Lowered the quarter jar over the plant and screwed it down to act as a terrarium. My plan is to open it once or twice a day just long enough to refresh the co2 for the plant. I then stuck it in the corner of my tent and leaned a piece of spare tent material over it so it isn't getting too much light.

I dont know if it will work and don't really care. I was a little high last night and bored.

It was a little wilted when I put it in there last night, but this morning it was perked up and couldn't have looked any healthier. Time will tell if it will work.

Awesome man, once I find a good NL1 female plant I want to clone it. And I don't have the cash rn for a cloning system, so i hope this works, i can afford a couple mason jars ;-)

I made one years ago the first time I attempted growing out of a 5 gallon bucket, pump, pvc, and a mister. It worked great. I just didn't feel like filling it up and running it last night. If I decide to do more clones at a time, I will fire that puppy up and put it back to work. I believe it has 9 or 10 spots

There's nothing fancy needed for cloning if you have the environment, a plug/cube/pot of coco with the top cut off a bottle for your dome.
A glass of water works well if you change the water daily (preferable) or every other day.

48 hours in, its still alive and healthy looking. The bent leaves are where they were pressed against the bigger jar. Still no roots, but its alive and well.

Should I replace the water in the jar every day or 2? Should I use ro water or well water?

.6 ec
426ppm .7 (if measuring ppm, are you supposed to use the .5 or .7?)
EC is a universal reading. ppm is a reading based on EC multiplied by a scale.

If your meter is reading ppm then you need to know the scale. It’s determined by the manufacturer you can’t just pick one.

My meter has both scales for ec and ppm. I guess I was asking which is the standard that most people post up about on the ppm?

Day 3: Still looks healthy with no roots. However, there are 2 spots on the leaves that I dont recall seeing before. Looks like something chewed holes in them. I looked all over and didn't see any bugs.

I guess I misunderstood what you were asking. Post a ppm and EC reading from the same sample and we can tell you which ppm scale your meter is showing. Although like said above the 0.5 Hannah scale is the most common ppm scale that meters use.

My meter is a hm com80 and it will read .5 and .7 ppm and also both scales for EC, mS/cm and uS/cm After doing some reading, I should just use EC mS/cm. I was just trying to figure out which one I should use when I post up what my water is.

Quite the meter! I’d stick with the mS/cm scale. It’s how EC is most often related to discussions.
