Halogen Work light grow

i have a couple of these lights they look like this

i was wondering if these would be any good to use for vegging or flowering ?

they get pretty hot but ill have a good vent in the area

i also have a standard 4 foot florencent garage lamp , this im guessing works for veggin pretty good yes ?

All help is greatly appretiated

use the floro then... halogen is no good

You need to do a lot of reading on this site about light spectrums and the ones that work best for growing. A halogen lamp does one thing really well. It's lights up dark places. The floro is probably just as bad.

What they said mate..

WAY too much heat and not nearly enough useful spectrum from the quartz-halogens. Daylight or 6500k flouros will be good enough for vegging a couple of plans.
