I have a buddy that just grew his first lady. I helped him get everything jarred up once it was dry enough. Sampling his Smoke I was a little shocked. My grows when I sample stuff it's relatively pleasant already and gives a good preview of what's to come. His was tasty the first hit, could taste lots of orange and citrus, the rest of the bowl was harsh and a chore to smoke.

The buds are super frosty, if his cure dosent fix that harshness would you recommend making an extract from the trics? They seem to taste great, the plant not so much once the frost is gone.

If after a good round of "curing" it doesn't get any better, I'd wash it and make hash out of it.
I have a strain that was "good" after the dry/cure, but has turned into something worthy the longer it's cured, can't keep the kids out of it, and at 1st they didn't even want to smoke it, a good 60 days into cure, that's all they want to smoke now.
Since your friends batch is already dry, and you decide to wash it, let it soak for a good 30-45 minutes in the coldest water/ice mixture you can to rehydrate before running it.

Greedy? Let it cure. I once grew Afgani that wasn't very good after month and half of curing. Found the container two years later. It blew my mind. That 'crap' turned to gold. YMMV.

I would try to figure out cause if harshness
Did it have yellowed and brown leaves?
Was it thoroughly dry before jarring ?
Fix the issue before you end up wasting another run with the same result

Whatever you do man you do you but never and I mean NEVER chop plants before they are fully ripe. There is a schizophrenia epidemic going around and its100% caused by people dabbing unripe resin. Think about it man, it's like eating an unripe apple that upsets your stomach, unripe resin is exactly same thing bud, but for your brain.

Do you mean harsh cos its had the dry cycle messed up or do you just mean like throat expanding smoke like you get with say chems among others? tbh regardless the better the starting material the better the hash will be in the end anyway op
