Hermies so I thought! Now the male flowers r opening to reveal female buds. Help.

Im not complaining but I need some explanation on this.

A few months ago I smoked some awesome weed & found 4 seeds. I planted them & grew 4 beautiful plants. Preflowers were strangely confusing so I kept all four. When they were 3 foot tall I switched into flowering 12/12 cycle (commencement of September). A week into flowering 2 plants were clearly male so I removed them. 3 days later (10 days into flowering cycle) the two remaining females showed expected flowering buds with white pistils however also had many fucking bunches of male flowers. I questioned light leaks which may have happened and was quite bitter with my (lack of) stringentness for about 12 hours. I checked again the next day and yup the male flowers were still there but I looked CLOSER and some of the more developed male flowers had white hairs - female pistils. WTF. I've monitored this over the last week and (what I knew to be) male flowers are developing pistils & opening to the form desirable female buds. Someone help me out with an explantation here - Ive attached photos & am monitoring the plants regularly. I can clearly see male flowers along with the female buds however the flowers are developing pistils and emerging to be female. I HAVE been giving them feminine vibes but on a science level help me out.

That's what you call a hermaphrodite. The pollen sacs will open and pollinate your buds.

Hey dude, thanks for your reply. I am very aware of what a hemaphrodite plant looks like - as well as what male flowers look like vs female. My issue which is puzzling me greatly is this: What looks like male flowers are there - present amongst the female buds. (i am monitoring this plant on a few-hourly basis.) The more advanced male buds then develop the two white hairs (female pistils). The male buds WITH the two white pistils then open into a full female bud ) adjoining the female buds (all with white pistils) above to create a larger female bud. I am aware of the sexual-inconsistiencies and abnormalities of the marijuana plant but I am scientifically confused. If you agree that these are male flowers (like my impression also is/was) why are they and CAN they turn into female buds which they ARE doing?

Like I said Im really puzzled or someone come pick up a specimen.

Yup I get it. What about when these hermie male flowers produce two white pistils which they are ALL progressively doing. This is what is puzzling me. All the 'male' balls/flowers are producing 2 white pistils and then exploding into the full female flowers. It is not a 'typical' hermie. It is reversing into feminine flowers. I've grown hermies before, mutant hermies and male plants before and am familiar with what male and hermie plants look like. I am really puzzled. Please someone give me another answer other than it's a SIMPLE hermie. Nothing is simple in the marijuana sex. These appear to be hermie plants with MALE flowers but ALL the male flowers are developing TWO WHITE pistils. Marijuana plants can reverses sex. Can it re-reverse? On all accounts it appears to be doing the impossible. I appreciate any and all inputs here. Thanks :)

Hi pal.

I read somewhere of this before. sry cant remember where or i would send ya the link.

But from what i read and remember is that it is a rare occurance for a plant to be undecisive of its sex especially a herm plant. This means that the male pollon sacks may produse pistols, but will be sure to produce pollen too.

It also stated that some male plants will herm into female plants, this is not as rare as thought, its just no one really grows male unless there using them to pollanate females.

hope this helps.

If it were me growing them then i would get rid and start over, but that is my choice..

good luck pal..

Hey dude thanx heaps. They are my only two indoor plants showing the same symptoms. So im gunna keep em both & see what happens. Got nothing to lose and possibly something to gain. It's odd, they ARE clusters of male buds (on a herm/predominantly female plant) but they then ARE all then producing pistils and from there they are ALL blooming into female buds - no different from the female beauties I wanted to begin with. My genetically-spasic herms are appearing to turning full female or possibly weren't herm to begin with? The male b alls suggest they were tho. Im still as puzzled as f*uck but am understanding sexual varients may be more varied than I thought.

MAS PS Wherever I mention male flowers above I meant BUDS. They are not open yet (as you can see from pics). Im stoned. Thanx community - even more input would be eternally greatful.
