High Powered Organics (Australia)

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else is running High Powered Organics from Australia? Just thought i'd start a thread for any hints, tips, success stories etc.

I'm running their Gro-Dirt https://www.highpoweredorganics.com/gro-dirt-1/ organic living soil with a few of their amendments (Anti matter, dark matter, green supreme and rhizo-mojo).

Currently i'm 5 weeks in, just flipped a few to flower and will veg the rest for a bit longer. I actually germinated in my own soil mix (not strictly organic), they were struggling and i found HPO and went to gro-dirt when i potted up from solo cups. The results were virtually instant, everything started to boom and i'm wondering why the heck i didn't get on the organics train sooner.

Running a mix of Greenpoint seeds purple chem, cookies kush, double dip and bodega bubblegum as well as a couple of pineapple express auto's.

Checking today i also noticed some 11 finger leaves! Keen to hear from anyone else running HPO.

Gdp. Which strain in the pic are you running?
Oh that's interesting, mine is a Purple Chem from GreenpointSeeds. It's a cross of StarDawg and Purple Punch... But the Purple Punch side is from Larry OG Kush and Grandaddy Purple which is yours. So that's cool to see how both our plants look very similar and both have the 11 finger leaves from the GDP lineage.

Are 11 leaflets known in gdp? This is my first time growing it, and I dunno much about it, other than it was my favorite to smoke when I lived in Cali.

Good question, it's my first time growing this one. I checked a few grow diaries for both GDP and Purple Chem and couldn't see any others with 11 finger leaves. I'm growing 6 Purple Chems and 2 of them have the 11 finger leaves, the others have either 9 or 7. So i'm looking forward to how they turn out.

Just thought i would do an update. I ordered the Rhizo-Mojo https://www.highpoweredorganics.com/rhizo-mojo/ which i should of been using much earlier according to their grow guide but better late then never right. I've done 3 waterings with it and the plants are going mental. They are throwing their hands to the sky and loving life.

The 2 Pineapple Express autos are really starting to look good. These i germinated in dirt i mixed up from a Bunnings smorgasbord, they were struggling, stunted and i was going to bin them. When i got the HPO gro-dirt i thought i would repot and toss them in a gap in the corner of then tent and see what happened. So glad i did...

And the big one in the center of the tent, 10 days since flip.

For my first organic grow i have to say i'm loving it, it's so good unzipping the tent every day and seeing happy thriving plants. Not having to stress about PPMs, PH, nute deficiencies and all that nonsense and just letting nature and the plant do it's thing.

I've found the grow style for me. If you haven't tried organics... DO IT! :)

I’m familiar with it, although I prefer a homemade coots mix personally.

I know a few people who run the gro dirt with bio diesel additives like the aloevate and guano with fantastic results.

Only heard good things about the guy that makes the gro dirt so would happily support him.
pretty sure they’re range of amendments are just bulk bought from OGS in Queensland or another bulk supplier and packaged up so you may find similar products slightly cheaper.

Nice plants mate.

Yes the owner is very passionate about organics and gardening, and a really great guy. I asked him some questions when i bought the gro-dirt and he was fantastic and only too happy to help. I wish i knew just a fraction of what he knows about plant biology. So yes i'm also happy to support them.

I know he produces the dro-dirt range himself, i subscribed to their Facebook page and he always does a "microbe Monday" showing the progress of soil batches cooking. And other amendments he sources from local businesses such as the oyster lime, but they sell the individual amendments on their own [https://high-powered-organics-online-shop.myshopify.com/collections/amendment-avenue]here[/url]. What is OGS in Queensland? I had a Google but couldn't find anything.

Other than some bush grows when i was younger this is my second grow so I'm sticking to the grow guide as much as possible. And thanks, the plants are going great... so thanks to organics doing it's thing it almost looks like i know what I'm doing. :D

Girls gone wild!

1.jpg

They were flipped on the 12th, so now 12 days in flower. I think i should defoliate soon, just reluctant to. During my last grow i defoliated then had a N deficiency and the plants started cannibalizing the lowest leaves. Because there were no lower leaves it impacted the top leaves and effected health and yield of the entire plants.

But so far so good, i actually have a first world problem... the veg tent is exploding and i wish i could slow it down. I was hoping to flip them when the flower tent was a month off finishing but they need flipping now or I'll need a machete.

In this mess there's 5 main plants, and the two young plants in the bottom right are Caramelicious auto and above them the 2 with buds are Pineapple Express auto. Never grown autos before, they were freebies. Don't judge but i like them enough I'm going to buy a few auto strains, just need to come out to my mother I've been swinging both ways in the tent. :D

2.jpg

Put my HPO Rhizo-Mojo sticker up in the flower tent.

For anyone running organics in big fabric pots, do you ever bottom water your plants? If not how do you ensure there's no dry spots towards the bottom? I added a moisture sensor to the top of the pot, and another in the bottom third of the pot. Even with really good top waterings the bottom hardly raises moisture levels if at all. So I've been doing bottom soak every 10 days or so. You can see where i watered around 9:30pm:

Oh and the link to the individual HPO amendments in my last post for @GreenestBasterd messed up, the proper link is https://high-powered-organics-online-shop.myshopify.com/collections/amendment-avenue

Quick update, i couldn't be happier with my decision to go organic things are going awesome. So far i've just been using the Rhizo-Mojo along with Dark Matter, Anti-Matter and Green Supreme as per the feed schedule.

I've also just ordered the Stone Age & Herb Superb for top dressing, and some Guerrilla Gro-Dirt to see how that goes. I'll update when i try them out.

Started moving things in to the new 5x5, and just flipped the 4x4. The auto's are starting to fatten up, not bad considering they were stunted and headed for the bin until i dropped them in Gro-Dirt.

Lots of tops, just need to get the 5x5 trellis in and spread things out to make use of the extra space.

I just realized i didn't update this thread, and every story has an ending and it's annoying searching things on Google and not seeing the outcome.

So... TLDR the organics were a huge success, and for an inexperienced grower i think i knocked it out of the park.

I didn't pay close attention to the exact yield as i don't sell and running a mish mash of strains means i harvested over a few weeks as each plant was ready. But i got just shy of 2lb. I had a slight N def just after the stretch on just 2 of the plants, which was my bad as i didn't get all the amendments in the HPO grow guide.

The stand out plants were Double Dip (the black one) and Bodega Bubblegum (insane odour) from Greenpoint Seeds. Unfortunately my wife has a big surgery coming up, so i'm just doing a quick auto run reusing the HPO Gro-Dirt (https://www.highpoweredorganics.com/gro-dirt-1/) they already exploded, a month old and starting to flower.

So... i'm now an organics convert. Photo dump...

Thanks mate i appreciate it, for a second grow i'm really stoked how it turned out. What i'm trying now is a dozen auto's in 3 gal pots, no topping or lst in the reused soil. They are looking good 5 weeks from seed, i'm surprised how fast they matured. When they are done i want to go back to photos, and try maybe just 1 or 2 big plants this time with a long veg and big container... so many methods/strains i want to try and so little time lol.
