Humidity

Hi guys, I am using a Meaco arete 25 liter dehumidifier outside of my tent and I am struggling to get my humidity below 55% inside my tent in flower, could I put the dehumidifier inside of my tent to get the humidity lower or would that dry out the plants? Any help is appreciated. Cheers guys :blsmoke:

Hiya harry, one thing that can help is to remove the leaves underneath the canopy that aren't getting any light-this can help reduce the humidity a lot. You could also increase your vent fan if you are able to adjust it. Be sure to have enough circulation within the tent too-for example, a fan underneath the canopy can help a lot. How big are your plants now (don't defoliate small plants)? Usually you would do some defoliation towards the end of veg.

Hi Rurumo, I'm glad you are doing well. I will increase the fan tomorrow and remove all of the dead leaves. Thank you for your help dude they are massive now let me get a pic for you :blsmoke:

I've been running a dehumidifier inside my tent for years, I face it towards the door/fan so the dry air isn't driving at the plants instead it gets caught with the oscillating fan and circulated.

I am going to have to put the dehumidifier inside of the tent because it's dehumidifying the room instead of the tent. When the dehuey is outside of the tent I can only get it down to 55% inside of the tent and I need to reach 40% humidity in late flower

My rh% with one dehumidifier running is about 55/56% on a good day but 59/62% is nearer the average, with a 2nd dehumidifier running outside the tent I can get 50/53% but they costs almost the same as the lights to run so don't like running the two.
Dehumidifiers create a bit of heat which is a bonus to me as the extra heat cycles the fan more helping keep down humidity without sacrificing heat.

At night a dehumidifier is more useful than a heater (in my situation) as it gives of heat while keeping down humidity, the equivalent wattage heater keeps my tent at the same temperature +/- 0.1c but at 75/80% rh :-(
It's humid as where I live.

also don’t forget @harrychilds you haven’t explained your setup in here.

@Star Dog Harry is dumping his tent air back into the room with the tent in it.

and the room door is left open.

So he’s effectively trying to dehumidify a recirculating air system.
Ah yeah my bad, there isn't enough room to put my dehumidifier in the tent either because the plants have filled the space, I'm really scared that I am going to end up with moldy weed if I can't get my humidity down dude because they are cookie indica's and have got rock hard dense buds like golf balls come late flower :(

See Dm but incase anyone else sees this thread.

Get enough ducting to exit the tent and reach the door of the room the tent is in.

Clamp the ducting with the door of the room to close the door as much as possible.

Run dehumidifier in the room to allow your tent to intake drier air and allow your exhaust to actually remove the humidity to another room.

If this doesn’t lower humidity enough then try running dehuey inside tent.

Thats what I did, sort of. I have forced air heat and ran the exhaust duct into the rooms cold air return. It was easy and I was able to get by without running the dehu this winter.

Oh? I never get down to 40% late in flower. I tend to be up around 50% for flower without any issues. As long as you have good airflow, ventilation and circulation no need to go so low.

The only reason I am going so low is because the buds on this strain have rock hard buds. It's a cookies strain. I believe it has cookies pancakes in the cross. And I know cookies strains always come with super rock hard dense buds. I seen someone else grow it out in the in house genetics thread and he said he was running at 35% humidity and still got some bud rot due to the fact the buds are like rock hard golf balls. With Sativa strains I am always sitting around 50 - 60% humidity, but with these indica dominant strains I believe I need to drop it a lot lower. :bigjoint:
