Increasing Female Probability from Regular Seeds

I have recently started researching the use of regular seeds, and with that, techniques to get more females vs males. It's really hard to sift through the mountain of bro science to find any solid information. Do environmental factors play that big of a role? OR has the sex already been predetermined? Does the lighting schedule matter the most? Do we have any say at all?

Reply with your techniques and/or thoughts! Thanks

get feminized seedz man, all 99% females gauranteed
Thanks, feminized seeds are great and all, but I am currently researching breeding; not solely focused on females only. A lot of information I have read says that you should use regular seeds and not feminized seeds for finding mothers.

in the us you can send snips of seedling to the lab who then run dna test type thing
to get the sex, or better make your own CS

good luck

There are several environmental factors that affect a regular seed to be male or female. One that I know of is lower temperatures... If I recall temperatures less than 70 degrees are more prone to be female but don't quote me on that do your research you're onto something temperature humidity nutrient concentration i e n p k and the amount of stressors on your plant or lack thereof affect sex. Keep doing your research wrong with something post your results

I hold a theory that plants sense each other in dense populations and self regulate...but i also think chromosomes predetermined the seeds sex at conception. Did a quick search tho and was like "nope..no thnx, regular seeds, find what i want will do"
Google chromosome search
I abstain from this lol

Cervantes thinks you can manipulate sex. In his bible he has some info that I believe came from Henk ( Dutch passion seeds)
Increased nitrogen , lower potassium, lower temps, higher humidity, fewer hours of light but staying above 18hrs and more blue spectrum coming from your light all will help( supposedly) sway sex towards female. These environmental factors were recommended after 3 sets of leaves showed. Not saying it's true, but it has been talked about.

Cervantes is the origin of some of the most pervasive cannabis bro-science. I've heard similar over the years.

Yup. I read that in the bible over 15 years ago. It's nothing new but why I brought it up. He also was one of the first I ever read who talked about washing buds, so it's not all bad.
It would be interesting if someone a actually took the time and did a study following these environmental factors.

Nope.

I had literally "ideal" conditions according to the info that you can "coax" females with low temp and high RH. I even tried to select seeds as best i could based on an "indented belly button". 4 out of 4 tested male.

It's wasnt the worst at the time and considering some of the advice that comes from here...
New growers should start with books. Not just books about cannabis either.
Yeah I agree. Much better information out there, and sometimes even rollitup is full of shite.. And although there is little treasures in the Bible the majority seemed to be questionable at best. Same with RIU or any forum as well…

I maintain an IBL Durban. A true pain in the ass since I'm in a small cabin using a single tent.

I live in Alaska and grow indoors but also use the outdoors for the couple of months it's really warm.

I call BS to environmental influence on sex. No matter when I sow I get the same 50/50 split. Cold or warm. Dripping humidity or dry as a bone.
