Checked the roots and WW's are bursting out. WW#2 now catching up after changing the placement in the rooting chamber. I took a few fan leaves off #1 to let the emerging tops get light direct.

Not sure why but Lil' Durban's leaf stems are turning red? Is this a nute problem or is this a Durban trait?

Bloody Hell! I went in this AM and Lil' Durban is drooping. My guess is the soil does not drain enough and allow oxygen into the root ball. I'm never going to use soil again! Either that or the pot is not draining enough, it has small holes and they may be clogged up???

WW's doing great and I got the SCROG screen up yesterday. WW#1 is up to the screen now and ready to start training soon. WW #2 is almost up to the screen so in a few days I can start with her. Their roots have hit the bottom of the root chamber and are starting to spread out.

Lil' Durban is doing better. From a "Plant Problem" thread I posted got the word that the stems are 'normal for some strains' and I loosened the soil a bit to give her some air. Might be a bit low in N% but I can't do much about that until the soil drys out a bit.

I'll have to be careful with water with this soil.
DSCN0002.JPG Lil' Durban this PM. She's not as yellow as the pix show, but close. Six Weeks from Germ.
DSCN0003.JPG WW's showing the understory as they reach the SCROG. Is it time to clear out the understory? They are showing lots of bud sites now and the lower limbs are maybe starting to stretch up to the screen. LST starting to be practical now, five weeks from germ.

Lil' Durban starting to look up but very yellow, so I watered/fert'ed this AM with ~150 Ml to see if it can get some N. I used a 1% combo of Grow and Micro. I'll drill some holes in the pot to make sure the drainage is good.

OH Drat! The burple I had over the Lil' Durban crapped out today! Now I'm faced with buying a new light or replacing the drivers in the two Vander Life lamps that crapped out.
The Boards in the Vanders are pretty good lights but the 'No Name' Drivers are crappy.
Now If I had checked the drivers before they broke and figured out the volt/amps of thier outputs I'd have a chance of knowing what to replace them with. OR I could just buy another $100 BeastVA to fill out my grow space.
I need to save up some money to pay the last half of my property taxes in Feb. Hummm??

Just went in and checked on the girls. Lil' Durban is greening up after nute boosting the last couple of days. It's still pretty light but looks better. I tried turning on the burple and she came on again! It must have been a heat induced fail??? I need to measure the volts from the driver to determine what to replace it with.

Lil' Durban still yellow despite Fertigating with 1100 ppm Grow/Micro at100% rec strength. It is growing though and stems are getting stiff. Growing into Xmas Tree shape, ~12" tall 5" wide.

WW#1 pushing the net up and WW#2 I think I topped too early, It's still below net or just at it.

OK I'm guessing that the girls are entering stretch. WW#1 is out growing the SCROG net. maybe 12 flower sites showing now. WW#2 is just now starting to push the net up a bit but I'm hoping that it will hit it's stride soon. WW#2 was a couple of days later that WW#1 to germ.
Time now for pix!

WW#1&2 11-10-21 ~ 7 weeks from germ.I had to raise the lamp to cover all the bud sites. I had been blasting them at 8" but WW#1 is just too spread out the allow that any more. Is it time to defoliate a bit? I've been clipping big fans to expose the tips but think it may be time to do more??

Sorry for poor pix, flash did not go off! WW#2 on the right is still short, hope it catches up soon.

Lil' Durban today. It's greener than the pix looks, finally. About 12-14" tall now.

DSCN0008.JPG
Lil' Durban from the top.I tried to FIM her but missed! But she's looking a lot better now.

Any comments? , feel free to jump in.

In looking at the pc of Lil'Durban on my big screen I noticed what appears to be pistils poking up from some nodes! She's 8+ weeks from germ, so it's about time, right?

The WW's are drinking down pretty fast. I added water yesterday and got too much into the root chamber. Let it ride over night and today Rez is down below the chamber floor. Ph 6.0 and ppms was down to 600 so added a bit of down and some ferts to get back to ~5.7/ 700ppm.
WW#1 streching up 5-6" above net, and #2 is still below net but showing pistils now. WW#1 does not show any pistils, but Lil' Durban starting to show pistils now.

I've asked about defoliation because the WW's are so bushy, but no response from RIU'ers so I'll start trimming fan leaves to let the light into the canopy for the lower bud sites.

WW#1 today after a haircut.

Tips are turning toward light and she doesn't seem to mind. The roots on these gals are going nuts!
pH and ppms are back in line and I'll be checking water level daily from now on.

I started this on the KISS principle. The NFT cell is as simple as hydro gets. And soil is just another challenge.
Sorry that White Widow is so prosaic, but simple to grow as required for a 75 year old after 19 months of surgeries, radiation and the loss of 40 pounds I may never get back. Last year they said I'd never play my ukuleles again, but HAH, I proved the fuckers wrong.
But I grow and smoke my own, never giving in to the egregious taxes that our states impose on us.
I learned in my life that surrender to the forces of a priesthood or politicians is the loss of personal freedom and the Mother Fuckers of this world will never break me of seeking my personal freedom.
Rant concludes.
Lil' Durban is almost 18" tall and she won't give up either it seems. She may only yield an ounce, but by the rules of life, ever struggling to reproduce, she will flower!

I watered/fed the Lil' Durban today, first time in nine days. I thought the top leaves looked a little droopy, but it may have been that it was growing into light.
Saw that WW#2 was showing pistils on most of the tops now, as is Lil' Durban. WW#1 is still not. #2 is above the net a bit and she may not reach the height of #1 so that's going to be a problem with light height in the future.

Lil' Durban Today.

Many blowouts in the early games today and upsets too!
Now to watch the highlight reels, no boring stuff and all the games on YT.

THE WW#1 is up to 24" tall and you would never know I defoliated at all, just a few days ago. WW#2 is only 17" tall and that is making for uneven Lux on the plants. I need to fix my busted Vander 100W light so I can have three lights for the three plants.
Lil' Durban is 17" tall and showing white hairs, as is WW#2. WW#1 is still hairless!

I moved the light up over WW#1 today. I had moved it to blast WW#2 to see if she'd get to stretch, but only got another inch out of her. I'm guessing that WW#1 is showing her Sativa linage and WW#2 is more Indica. Yet the leaf structure on both seems to be Indica'ish?

OMG, OMG, the 49ers beat the Rams 31-10!
This morning WW#1 is showing pistils! Hooray!
WW#2 and Lil' Durban are stacking their buds now. Only 6-7 weeks to go now!

Had to add to rez and pH was low so added~2 gal of tap and ph rose to 5.8 ppms down to 585 ( 1.2 ec) so added 30 ml of Floro 'cause they entered flowing phase and 25 ml of Micro to keep the N up.

Lil' Durban has formed two tops where I FIM'd and both are forming bud down the stalks. SHe may be small but she's game.

Widows are drinking a gallon a day! I filled the rez and checked the Ph/ppms and they are doing well. WW#1 is up to 27" and she's still stretching!

Lil' Durban is up to 17" and I spread her out a bit to get light on all the tips. She's starting to fill in the colas and looking good now. I watered her today.
Heck I might be smoking by New Years!

The girls looked good today. Ph and ppms holding in there, but I'll change the rez for the first time tomorrow, It's been six weeks since I changed the water, I've only added about 40-50% of the rez in the last six weeks and adjusted pH and ppms.
I'll get some new pix too, as WW#1 is unbelievable and Lil' Durban is real pretty now.

I didn't change the water but just added ~2 gal and took some pix
DSCN0020.JPG

WW's #2 on the left is 17" tall and WW#1 is 27" tall. Ordered another light so I can get more lumens on #2 next week. #1 is STILL stretching! Lots of buds forming and starting to fill in. I took three handfulls of leaves off her yesterday and cleared all the bud for more light. I could have filled the whole scrog net with her if I had not started another seed.

Lil' Durban pix were bad but plant is up to 18", budding and filling in. I may not get much from her but I'll get a tasted of the poison.
