i would just experiment with this , but i have not the time...

i would like some opinions from people who had grown something with led ufos or led spotlights...

and if i saw some positive opinions i would start this...

but i think none seems to interest...
I can provide you some opinions in few months, starting LED grow with 135w ufo and 100w cfl; however I have to say overwhelming feedback I've seen from using the lights is just decreased yeilds at lower power consumption, match used energy on LED vs HPS/HID wattage it might actually produce useful yields, I have not grown anything yet and was constrained by a budget and confined space so HPS isn't a practical choice at the moment, but I will try the cheap xen-lux chinese ufo out and give you some feed back, should have a thread on its progress when I do start, I don't expect it to yield anything significant tbh, but at 110$ light and 100 in soil ect, I don't really have any expectations but a little more unique weed to smoke then the normal stuff going around.

There is actually a few different threads with grows on that you can find via google searches, one is here ; not sure if linking to another forum is a problem. I've seen a different thread of 90w ufo vs 400w hps, ofcourse even though the plants seemed identical in growth, the hps's plant obviously yielded much more; I've seen a few good threads in LED section though of these forums, where they use LED panels from 3w diodes and just build adequate lighting from those, but those are somewhat costly, moreso then the average HPS one you can get on ebay or from avg retail site..of which I'm sure you would make up in saved electricity bill anyway. Will be 3x bubblicious auto 60 days, 1 northern lights auto 60 day, but since its first grow and limited lighting probably just roll with 1 bubblicious for now.. I'll hit u up with what I got on the ufos atleast.

Probably at the end of the day will only be worth it if your growing for yourself, unless you invest into the quality setup you probably won't get as quality of a yield, I'm going for a small 1-2 plant at most, just personal grow for diff weed for myself. Don't have scales or any intention on selling something off a cheap ufo light so yea I guess it all depends on what kinda grow your doing, jst for a personal experiment and first grow I thought it was a suitable choice.

I never personally used leds so maybe I am incorrect but thats not much wattage at all to flower with imo even with led...vegging ehhh probably ok i guess. Maybe if you run 10 of those you could grow one plant but I would just go with CFL. I have a 65WATT CFL i have in a clone room with up to 10 clones at a time... thats puts out 3800 lumens alone but i consider that even low lighting but thats what i want for my clone room..... I flower under 400W HPS with CFL Side and lower lighting. I have used only CFL (total 200watts) with decent results.(2 purp kush got 18 grams about per plant dry) I'm curious to know how it turns out maybe you will prove me wrong.

2BHonest, I don't like much of those lights except the ones designed for plants with red/blue leds not 6500 3500k lights.

6500k is a good point, but 4500k is around the other peak, 3500k a lil low, too red too far red IMHO. I think you take ~2870000 or ~3000000 and divide by the hue in Kelvin (K) to get the approximation peak wavelength.

I took a lot of time searching my white leds, and I found the chart that shows the output and I made sure the 4500k/6500k whites I got had high blue and red outputs where needed.

Lumens is a bad means of measuring light, because anything with a lot of not so useful yellows will appear very bright on a lumen based measurement/curve based on human eye sensitivity not plant sensitivity. So if you were trying to made it look bright and produce a lot of heat, then HPS/Halogens are for you!
