LED Light Manufacturer Recommendations

Hello.

I am assembling data for a first grow attempt. I am only interested in personal use. Two plants at a time, mostly interested in growing Indica type strains.... Northern Lights, etc...

After some research, I have decided to go with an LED light. I am currently looking at lights for my grow from Pro-Grow, Hydro Grow, and Dark Star. If anybody has some experience with LEDs that they would be willing to share, and opinions on these manufacturers, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Well, thanks for the input. I've only lurked so far in my research. This is the first time I've posted. I guess I underestimated the scorn for the LEDs. You seem pretty emphatic. Do you regard CFLs as an alternative to an HID for such a small grow?

Thanks for the polite head slap on this. I needed that. I went back to the drawing board, and you're right. The high cost of the light is not justified by skirting the labor of working out the venting.

Haters gonna hate.

You all used shitty low watt leds with shitty fans. From ebay probably .

Led is kickin hid's. ass t5 is too.

Go to led section. Plenty of proof.

600 watt hid set up - $350 covers 3x3 to 4x4
2 bulbs over 2 years $150
Fan and ducting $250
Filter $60 to $100. = $810 to $850

2 apollo 8s 550 watts $620 - 3 year warranty covers 4x4 to 5x5

Or 1 inda gro efdl induction 420 watts. $795 - 10 year warranty covers 5x5 to 6x6

90% less heat with those lights vs hid

or spend a little more for area 51 or fero and get a life time warranty

you could also go with 150 watt hps and mh. on amazon they sell package kits for $100 bucks or less, for such a small ghrow could get the hps and mh universal ballast use the mh bulb for veg then switch to hps for flower pretty cheap and way better light penetration
just saying:bigjoint:

I tend to use both led and hid, led only in veg. I've found that the 50k hours life of the diodes doesn't mean shit when it starts dropping rows within a few months after the warranty is up.
