What is the longest time you have seen a plant go on 12/12 before they show signs the sex of the plant? I have one new plant (unknown strain) that has been on 12/12 for a little over a week now, and i think its female but so far no white hairs. While the other plants i have growing with it, already have white hairs.

alot of the time males show alot quicker than females... as long as you arent having any light leaks or anything you should see some sign of sex fairly soon. sativas typically take longer than indicas to show sex and to flower.

well a few grows ago i had a plant take 13 days to show sex. it will show. one reason it might not show is cuz of light leaking in but thats just a thought

I think it depends on the strain. Mine were able to be sexed at about 2 weeks. YMMV...

2 weeks of 12/12 will show males first.
fems always show later 2-3 weeks dependent on conditions and strain.
for me 10 days and i see males 2 weeks and the fems start showing.

haha yeah just give it some time man. Sexing can take a while, sometimes up to 14-20 days. Try making your light schedule more like 11.5 and 12.5, your plant may just not feel as though its time to flower because it feels like its still gettin enough light to keep growing

Ya, i did that a few days ago, Hoping to see sex of the other plant soon! Pretty sure its a sativa which based on what you guys have said would make sense why its not sexing like the other ones which i'm pretty sure are indica

my plant didnt show sex for about a month then on morning i looked at it and it was covered in those lovely white hairs

going through same shit you are man...been flowering 2 weeks STILL not even the sightest sign of of sex...mainly indica strain (broad leaves/bushy) its bagseed i got out of a bag of nugs.

i am still using mostly veg light. (6500k) should i take all those bulbs out and just use all 2700k ? i do have 2x 2700 bulbs in my box but mostly i hvae 6500 should i take them out and only use 2700 ?

am i making my plant think it doesnt need to make buds yet :(?

whats your light schedule and do you have any light leaks?full spectrum is said by some to be better than just using one side of the spectrum since in nature it gets full spectrum of light from the sun.....

i feel like im hijackin his thread hah but we both have same problem so all good imo.

anyway im on 12/12 atm I guess i can have light leaks im only using rubbermaids so i most likely do but i dont have lights on in the room while they are in there dark period cept my tv i cover it with a small blanket too but i think i need to get a bigger one (i hate covering it ..cuz then no good air flow :(

also i flowered after vegging since sep 1st - oct 1st....so really its only been 10 days maybe im just being impatient. maybe they jus aint rdy yet..it seems like they are trying to promote branch growth now ive noticed the side branches are growing faster than the tops so maybe its just "rushing" to get strong enough to support buds. idk only time will tell im going to find a bigger blanket to throw over my box i still worry about fresh air then

oh and the spectrum , i had more 6500k than i did 2700k but i just switched out 2 6500k for 2 2700k so i have

1x 33 watt 2700k
2x 23 watt 2700k
2x 26 watt 6500k

total of 131 watts / 8845 lumens in a 3' high and bout 2' wide space do you think thats enough light? im probly adding about 2 more light bulbs by the end of the weekend

but like i said im growing in rubbermaids so im not expecting to much out of this just enough for personal use to last me a month while i re-veg one of the females hopefully i get atleast 1 out of the 3 plants i have..running out of room really need to get 1 of those plants out of there and into a mother chamber so i can reveg it i grew a male in there b4 it showed flowers only after 4 days of flowering so im hoping maybe the longer wait means they are female.

i had a room that half of the plants showed female and male at the same time in veg stage before i even switched the lights, maybe it is the strain different seeds haqve different phenos causeing them 2 grow differently due 2 genetics, and then when i switched 2 12/12 i was only sexing a plant per day for 2 weeks after that,, i belive the plant will automatically flower once gone in to 2 much stress, by letting your soil dry out it will stress the plant into flower. the plants keep growing becuase we water them so much, plants dont really need full sunlight 2 grow, just let them stress out more by letting the soil get dry, so when u water they will be happy and grow more fflowering has 2 be triggerd and set off if u dont want it 2 flower make sure she has good water and full sunlight hope this helps, sometimes we water a little 2 much and the dirt can stagnate itself, let the dirt do its job the roots are fighting fort the water below and they love the dry periods as well it alows oxygen 2 flow into the dirt and 2 your roots:eyesmoke:
