Lower seedling leaves are wilting bad.. Big worry time?

Getting really worried about this seedling.. I recently repotted because the original soil I used was really bad.. The roots were all tangled up in the soil and there were bits of hard material tangled up in the roots when i transplanted it. Tried to gently remove as much of the debris as i could but there was still a lot of crap tangled with the roots when i transferred.

Here's what happened,, before the transfer all sets of leaves were drooping badly.. After transfer now the top leaves have returned to health but the bottom leaves still look in a very bad way, they seem to keep gradually wilting more and more and losing healthy green color. After I transferred I then saw a video of someone actually washing the roots of a much larger plant (it wasn't cannabis) in water, cleaning everything off the roots and then transferring it. I was wondering if I should have tried doing that real gently, or even if I should try now - remove the plant, wash roots and then plant again?

My newbie mind is thinking that maybe there's some gunk and crap left on the part of the roots that's feeding the lower leaves so that's why they're in such a bad way?

Dont stress it. The round things that look like leaves are not. They store the nutrients until the roots take hold and the plant can communicate with the microbes of the soil which will feed the plants with what it tells them it needs via the release of exudates. Teaming with Microbes is a great book. Best of luck.

No way? Lol.. So you're saying that lower section is basically supposed to wilt and disappear once the plant's roots have established themselves in the soil. In other words, it's looking normal? I hope that's what you're saying. I'm was really getting worried that I'm about to lose the plant!

And thanks for the suggestion about the Teaming with Microbes book, I will definitely check it out soon. I should probably get some dedicated books but I guess with forums there comes this lazy dependency on instant answers to specific problems when it's probably much better to have a wider all-round knowledge by reading books.

It's happened to every seed I've started. Just thought it was normal

Had to double check this real quick and saw this time-lapse video. Looks like those lower sections still stay with the plant until they're much more mature?

On this video at 3:12 the plant is much more mature than mine, with a lot more leaves but those lower nodules are still there :

Yes that is correct. The name of them is cotyledon. Forums are great though I recommended this one as the industry is still very much producing crap products. I would say well over 85% of bud in dispensaries is crap and unfortunately, dispite the efforts and intentions much of the advice on forums in junk as well. The book will explain why phosphorus is bad and set a proper foundation to grow on. Exudates and microbes is all you need.
