How to Determine the Sex of a Young Cannabis Plant
What are cannabis “pre-flowers?” They are little versions of adult flowers that appear on your marijuana plants relatively early in the vegetative stage.

When I first started growing weed, I learned (incorrectly) that there is no way to determine a cannabis plant’s sex until the flowering stage. But I’ve since learned that pre-flowers can reveal the plant’s sex while it’s still in the vegetative stage! Cannabis plants grow pre-flowers as young as 3-4 weeks from germination for male plants, and 4-6 weeks from germination for female plants.

any trace of the two hairs that grow from it means female. if no hairs, is there a thin spike on the front of the pre-flower that is darker green than the rest? this is the stalk of a male pre-flower. some times it will be curled, giving the developing pre-flower a bear claw look

Yes that's about right, if you want to determine the sex early you need to flip it or you can take a clone and put that into 12-12.
Not according to most of RIU. You can tell sex in 4-6 weeks of veg or flip to 12/12 to know for sure within a few days.

You can estimate sex around week four if you know what to look for but its a very short window and only a guesstimate. You still need to wait until the plant matures to be certain.

Why don't you have a stab then guys?

I estimate its a female but that's not much use to the op lol.
I believe it's a female plant thus far. I personally will take some cuts off a plant then send it into flower in a dixie cup to know if I should trash it or not. Beats growing it for 6-8 weeks and finding out its a male. Take cutting(s) off plant, flip cup into flower and it will tell you the answer within a week of 12/12.
