Thank you @MarsHydrofactory for the contest.

Ok , let’s get this party started .

I have a 2x2 tent with a MarsHydro Ts1000.

I am playing with a chocolate diesel s1 cutting taken of the better of the two plants that I have in flower.

Not sure why, just for fun as seriously I have enough seeds for my lifetime, but this is fun and all the years I have grown weed I was dumbfounded when I read about it and just had to try.

So being in canada it’s not the easiest to find the ingredients but I did prevail at obtaining a lifetime supply as it doesn’t take much.

So I have this lady that I sprayed then followed up spraying every 4 days.

On day 8 , lights were turned and then I sprayed 3 more times for a total of 6.

She he has changed on the branches I sprayed but also everywhere else .

Here it is.

Holy crap! Massive amount of male flowers on that.

I'm waiting on seeds to ripen from a couple auto plants I dusted a few buds on with pollen I got from a reversed one of the same strain. I had sprayed the whole plant but think I waited too long before starting the spray so all were close to cropping before balls started to appear mostly as 'nanners tho started as balls.

As there were still some nice white hairs here and there on the other two I picked and saved the 'nanners and used some of the pollen to dust some near the bottom of the plants on March 13. I can see seeds busting out so will probably start collecting ripe ones as soon as tonight.

I'm Canadian too and could not find either silver nitrate or the sodium thiosulphate anywhere on line here so made my own silver nitrate and found a company in Ontario that would sell me 500g of the other for only $22 but Purolator charged me $69 for the shipping.

I got my instructions from a guy called Sebring on another site where they OverGrow pot and am wondering what you used for mixing instructions. I doubled the amount of the two parts listed in the instructions I got and saw no real leaf damage so will keep doing it like that. Right now have a branch each on 3 different strains being sprayed to get some pollen while cuttings from them are rooting.

I used a formula found over a 420, 1/2 gram in 500 and then 2 of the sodium thiosulfate.

Like really this has made so much concentrate, like it makes 10 bottles and I used 1/2 a bottle.

I only sprayed the bottom 7 branches and the whole thing exploded.

Sounds about the same as mine. I mixed up a Part A and Part B then use 50ml of each to mix as a concentrated STS then add that to a 500ml brown glass bottle with a sprayer. The stuff I'm using right now is left over from Feb but almost gone so will mix a new batch from the two parts before the next spray in 3 days.

The instructions I got say to mix all of part A to B then use some of that to dilute into the spray you put on the plants but once mixed it doesn't last very long once mixed together. Being a retired chemist I decided to mix separate batchs as the parts will last for ages on their own. They are in 500ml brown glass bottles too.

Making silver nitrate involves lowering a .9999 silver coin into hot concentrated nitric acid. I did this out in the carport on the tailgate of my pickup. Those NOx fumes are nasty! :)

I'm careful alright. After getting my diploma in environmental chemistry about 30 years ago I worked as a chemist in a hazardous waste disposal facility for a couple of years so stuff like that is easy-peasy for me. That's where I got the concentrated nitric acid from originally. Took home lots of other stuff too. :)

I never looked on Ebay but could have got the stuff from Amazon . com but couldn't find any of it on amazon . ca and didn't want to try to get it shipped from the states. From an 8g coin I bought at the local PO I ended up with 12g of the Ag(NO3) so it cost $20 for the coin. Got another coin the same size at the local thrift store for only $10 so my next batch, should I ever need more, will be cheaper. :)

I read something a while back about injecting a bit of diluted silver nitrate into the stem and that's supposed to work on one branch or a whole plant so I must try that one of these days. One shot is supposed to do it. Lazy people like me may not do much but when we do we find the the easiest way to get the job done and improve the world! :D

It's all good.

Worth a try tho. Easy enough to make clones to experiment with and after all these years of growing I need to keep it interesting or I'd give it up. ;)

If you have the space and time , your correct it would be easy and fun at the same time.
It truly is a passion for some.

I could use more space for all the little projects I have planned but I'm retired so time I have plenty of. My house too so if I need to punch a hole or run some wiring I'm good to go there.

Grew my first buds in '78 then on and off for a while until I moved north in '01 with 6 hash plant clones and not a day has gone by there hasn't been at least a pot plant or two growing in my house. :)

She is starting to get more hairs as time goes on , about 5 weeks now.

A dozen or more flowers have fallen off , but no visual splashes on my paper.

I was worried there would be dust clouds but I have yet to see any visual airborne pollen at this time .

You got a few just opened and should be dropping some pollen soon. Lots to follow so it should be snowing in there before too long.

You can see a little bit of pollen on the stem below the open flower.

Is it safe to tap on the retired flowers to get the extra polllen left behind or will it become damaged?

Hell no! Let them dry and break them up to get more pollen if you need it. I just picked mine off with a little container held underneath then dried them more and shook them up to loosen the pollen. Then I just dipped a paint brush in and swished it around to get lots of pollen on it and dusted some flowers.

Just collected fem seeds off both plants the other night and there's still some immature ones so the plants are sitting in the grow tent for another week or two to let them ripen.

Cut a coffee filter to catch the seeds as I picked them out of the calyxes. 20 off one and 14 on the other so far.

You're gonna have so much pollen I wouldn't worry about things. :)

MarsHydro ts1000 on the job site.
Getting her done.

I would get those closed flowers really dry then mash them up in a jar or work them across a sieve over a bowl so the pollen doesn't all waft away on the air currents. Don't go visiting your flowering girls until you shower and change clothes too. :)

You should keep that plant going past harvest time and look for seeds on it for some nice fem S1s. Should be some on her.

Lol. I have been trying my best .

I do not run a direct fan , just on a steady draw.
I will collect and see if I can come up with something.

Yes I will have to keep this girl going as I don’t have any more of this seeds.

I did poke a qtip around with some first pollen few weeks back on her mom but I’m not sure if it took .
A read after said to sprinkle above rather than joust into the hairs.

Next time.
