new grow box currently being built

So basically the size is this
>2ft height, 2ft width, 1.5ft depth.
>For lighting i will use a 150w HPS system i found on a site. It's cheaper than on any other "hydroponics site" it's like 50$ or 37euros.
>For ventilation i'm gonna use this mofo http://www.growin.ro/control-miros-f...-100mm-160m3-h . It seems kinda ok, i'm not really sure if it works 100% like i hope it does. Also, if any of you has a similar model can you tell me how many db of sound does it produce. Will it make it OBVIOUS there is something wrong in the room ? or can i just pass it as a pc running permanently ?

the Hps will be too big for that small of a room you might wanna consider CFLs for that small of a box or just make a bigger one and anyways CFLs would be better for Vegging because you can get the daylight 6500k spectrum which has the blue spectrum that plants need for Vegging hope this helps.

What if i get a fan to blow over the plants and a fan to blow over the HPS in the direction of the carbon exhaust thingy ? could that make it possibru ?

or

ya that would deal with heat issues but the plant will grow to about 1 and 1/2 feet in LST if you Veg for 2 months what kind of HPS setup are you getting? and are you setting the reflector on top of the box or inside of the box?

Oh and for your question about the sound it sounds like a street light when it's on its not really noticeable pretty much just a buzzing sound

my seeds will arive next week so the project is still in the editing phase. Today i started building the box, tomorow i'm done and i'll try to figure it out. I haven't decided on the HPS this. My box is this small because i have to hide this thing from the guy i live with, it will go under my desk, in a place hidden from view.
I was hoping of not using a reflector but mylar on my wood(Lol).
Now that you have opened my mind, a 125W cfl is better than a 150w HPS in this situation. Right ?

Oh and for your question about the sound it sounds like a street light when it's on its not really noticeable pretty much just a buzzing sound

that's what i was hoping for. I was afraid it would be some jet engine in high gear, like my last PC fans were( they were like 6years old and used )


Also, getting a carbon scrubber AND ONA gel for only a 3sq ft box is kinda overkill, right ?

ya CFLs would be better their is almost no way to hide a HPS setup from someone, i would go for like 250 watts and the carbon filter with a exhaust fan would work perfect but if you dont wanna spend that much just get some more PC fans i would put one fan on top and one or two on the sides this will allow the best air flow and if your just vegging their shouldn't be much smell so the Carbon scrubber probally won't be needed.
