New to this, could use a bit of help from some of your Gods.....

Right so ive started my own growth, and i was wondering if some of you could have a look at my set up and guide me, or am i doing things right........

Firstly, i brought a 600w lamp, but i used it on my 1st trial and as i was growing from seeds, after it had sprouted, i moved it into the grow room and withn 2 hours it killed my plant, so i thought.... right......

now because i was able to germinate and sustanin growth just using my lamp i decided to contiune that as i woudnt brun/fry my little plant.... now about 4 weeks into my growth (from day 1 of wetting the paper towel and putting it into a plastic bad) to now....

i cant check my PH as i dont have a PH tester or any PH up, PH down, but ill get some for my 2nd growth.

the items i have are

1) Vitalink Earth (vegging nuts) when i water i dont use it all the time
2) Mirical grow soil
3) 3x energy saving light bulds 40w (i think)
4) Closet, to keep my stuff hidden lol
5) A fan.

now that if i put my head in and sniff the plant i can smell the weed, (im growing White Widow with a Lion Heart cross)

i cant keep the temperature up as i dont have the big 600w light on as i dont wanna burn my plants and loose all my stock again lol

looking nice, the third on the right is very stretched though. try to keep those cfl closer to the plants, like 2 inches above. if you buy a cooltube with inline fan it will stop u burning them with the 600! how ever a 600 will be abit much for that wardrobe.

lol love the hidden closet.. also put the 600 back on them now just far enougth away not to burn also id top the stretched one other wise it will grow to big hurry up and get a ph pen or you will have more problems that just light burn but good luck

Looks good except you need a couple more twisty bulbs, Also you have mylar which is good for the sides, but you are loosing a lot of light above. try to make a reflector out of your mylar and then find something hard to stick it to. what I have done in the past is cut out a big rectangle piece from the bottom of a rubbermaid storage tote, then mount with mylar 1 inch above the twisty cfl bulbs. It saves a lot of usable light for the plants

i know the one on the left has laods of stretch but for some reason it just grew laods quicker than the other 2, but now its slowed down.. so i have had to raise up the other 2 to he top of the light....
i have not topped any of then atm but now i want them to grow more arms as more arms = more buds

the 600 is too intense for seedlings. If you put it back in there now, with proper ventilation it will do its job. Also on your next run consider losing the Miracle Grow. It will burn your plants and makes diagnosing nutrient deficiencies difficult down the road due to the very high content of nutes already present in the soil. I know from personal experience.

get your six on them providing u can control it, your closet aint that conceled any way so leave doors open so dont get to hot also then you can make use of that fan

if you use 600 thou remove foil from pots so the heat wont bounce back up to much

thanks for the info ill defo take that advie on the inline fan Robsterb, and ill also make that Mylar thing your talking about as that is a wicked idea keeping more light in when would i want to start flowering them? ill keep adding pics on progression of my 1st proper growth that is seeming to work at the mo.. thanks all

That is a terrible idea arron. 600watt produces radiation heat, in such a small space he can cool tube it and fan ventilate all day long it won't matter, its still going to get too hot in there. At the most he might get away with running a 400 watter. Also, The wicked idea he was refering to was mine about the mylar and making a reflector for his cfl bulbs. Thats +rep worthy info, its golden. Look at how small his plants are anyway. 600w is overkill. Why are you trying to give him advice that will once again fry his plants arron?

lol i also said a 600 was to much for that wardrobe! but if he has it and can control the heat with cooltube and inline fan it wont fri his plants! also im not after any rep im trying to help because i want to.

p.s invest in a tent when you have the funds the Dr 120 will be perfect for that 600.

Just because you hook up a cool tube and some ducting to a light, doesn't mean it will stay cool. I have experience with this cab grow stuff. These HID bulbs give of radiation heat, that can not be pulled away with a fan. see my old cab grow. I ran a 400w with a cooled hood and a powerful fan. I had heat issues all the time

thats a nice growth you got mate sweet work.... but ye im gonna get a tent as soon as i get the funds

Dabest i had the same trouble as finding the "new post" button was a bit of a drama, go to the main page where everyones post are and then click on like the Newbie forum, then at the top is somthing like "new Thread" click on that and then your are on your way to your own question
