This probably doesn't help what so ever. But I got a 9lb hammer cross outdoors doing beautiful so far. Blackberry kush x 9lb hammer x deluxe sugarcane. Most vigorous out of what I'm running atm. But still early
Ya 9lb is a great strain. Very resistant. I crossed my 9lb with a purple punch. Made for some heavenly smoke :-) I still have seeds from that cross. I saved the pollen in the freezer too for future use.

2 months old now, 1 month in the dirt. One girl had some stunting and yellowing issues after transplant, the other took right off. Shorty has greened up and ought to start taking off. Tall girl going to be topped today, need to keep her below the corn.
Is it good hiding it behind corn like does anyone expect it etc?

Corn helps conceal the plants. This corn is bi color Ambrosia. It only gets about 6 to 6.5 feet tall, so something like Silver King or Queen that gets to 8 feet is better for concealment, but I like the Ambrosia better for eating. I also grow sunflowers at the end of the rows. Next to the corn are tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, zucchini, cantaloupe and watermelon. So, the weed fits in pretty well. Lots of camouflage. However, come fall, when the corn goes brown, the bright green weed does stand out a bit!

Shorty keeps running into trouble. She burst through her yellowing and stunted stage post transplant, and started thriving. Then, Several weeks ago something was digging next to her roots and she tipped over. I filled in the hole and watered, and she straightened back up in the hot sun. She’s now about 4.5 feet and looking good, all things considered. The taller girl is about 6’4”, even with frequent topping to try to keep her low. If I had been able to just let her go, she would probably be 8 feet or so tall. Flowering started first week of August. Now it’s all about filling out and not getting busted or mold….knock on wood…

Monthly check in. Was able to keep the big girl around 6’6” by topping. Big canopy. Definitely would have been taller than 8’ without topping. Shorty ended up around 5’. Hurricane remnants and storms crushed my corn. Letting weeds and stuff grow in the area, along with the sunflowers and veggies to hopefully provide enough cover/camouflage. The rains and storms were early enough in the budding process not to do much damage. Need nice weather from here on out. Today is damp, but supposed to be sunny and dry for several days coming up. Knock on wood, haven’t seen caterpillars, but my eyes suck…lol. Have sprayed a few times with BT. Might need a spray or 2 for powdery mildew soon. Planning on pulling at first frost or 4-5 weeks…

Ended up removing 2 small branches on the small plant and a larger branch on the bigger plant from storm damage. Added several more stakes and a bunch of ties to keep sagging lower branches off the ground. Was planning on harvest mid Oct or later, so don’t know if the branches I deadlined will be any good. Will dry them and see. I would note they are sticky as hell, and have some brown pistols and some swollen calyx. No more heavy storms until harvest, please. Thanks, the management.

It’s been a damp, humid week with a couple of nights with rain showers. Dry nights had tons of dew and some fog. Mostly cloudy during the day. There is another chance of rain or showers this weekend. Cut three branches off shorty today due to rot. First Rot I’ve found thus far on either plant. Thinking of pulling shorty tonight, and maybe the bigger girl prior to the weekend rain. I wanted to let them go another week or so, but this weather blows. From the minimal work I did today, my fingers were completely sticky.A779F3FC-1298-475D-841C-7E7097262E11.jpeg23F02C4F-E4CD-4B71-95C6-AF0F2FE23B5F.jpeg8192E3C1-53ED-4589-8B6E-5C093A19045B.jpegB482DC14-AD35-4E00-9EEB-79FE3FDF9D7D.jpeg4F7B9870-8791-4794-9491-DDBBEB152379.jpeg

Forecast is for showers and drizzle the next 2 days. Next week looks warm, but humid. Warm, humid autumn weather in this neck of the woods means morning fog. Bud rot started making an appearance the last 2 days. Decided to chop the girls and hung them in the shed a couple hours ago. Weed seemed nice and dry after a warm, partly sunny day. Thought about cutting last night, but the plants were dripping wet from fog. Plants were in flower for 9 weeks. Will trim bits at a time, time permitting.
