Lmao they actually suggest this in the book "steal this book" except they say add a little bit of alcohol to the mix lol it is an old book though so you can't blame them

Ahh yes, so that's why Finshaggy's cannabis turns out like the plants went through a nuclear meltdown - he mentions the very same book in another thread.

I'm happy to know that cause I was getting nervous thinking I did something wrong
Am sure you're doing just fine, just read, ask questions, read more, read more, ask questions.. get hands-on.. rinse/repeat. Time-based, more than anything else.

Like Fig says read, read, read. Start with my favorites. Find Used at either Abes or Powells both used book stores. Worth the investment.

haha. I was being serious though. Proper dry and cure is where it's at no doubt. BUT if you happened to fuck up the process and over dry and the buds smell like hay, the cure is dead, with a low RH of below 50%, pop that baby in the fridge. It will wring the very last moisture out and start to cure, and smooth out the nasty smell and taste. I've had a jar setting at 48% for like 3 days, wasn't going to rise on it own. Put in fridge overnight and the RH jumped up 60%. Leave it sealed and set on counter. After a few hours went back down to 48-49%. Back into fridge overnight. Repeated this like 3-4 days and the shit smelled decent and tasted awesome. If anyone ever messes up on your buds just try it. You don't have anything to lose do ya?

First off wringing out the moisture is not what starts the cure. I can and do start the cure before I even chop the fcking plant down and before any moisture is taken out of the buds. Don't ask me how cause frankly its my secret.
If you want to find out visit my grow journal and stick around for a while. Ill be revealing it at the end.
Putting your buds in and out of a fridge is going to cause you mold problems if not watched very carefully.
a very simple way to raise RH in a jar is add a couple fan leaves and its done. As far as what I have to lose, I have my buds too lose.
which to me is very important.

How is putting over dry buds into the fridge gonna cause mold? You aren't gonna lose your buds. Added a leaf or lettuce or whatever will bring the RH up but it wont re-start the cure. Once you drop below a certain point adding moisture isn't gonna start the curing again. Maybe when I put it in the fridge magical weed smurfs came and fixed my buds while I was sleeping fuck if I know but it worked for me. You don't have to try it with your whole crop, just try it with a little nug before you knock it.

In case nobody actually answered this... Adding orange peels, banana peels, or any semi-dry fruit peel will impart a wonderful fruity scent to your buds and rehydrate them very quickly. The risk of mold is moderate so using peels for scent or hydration does require some skill. The taste is not affected in a notable way. Also, try smoking whilst chewing your fav gum, best way to flavor your smoke!

You can't "restart" a cure..
man your making my head hurt...
read up on what starts a cure because I don't have the energy to tell you...
ill give you a hint though. It has to do with oxygen...

Oh and it promotes mold because your adding moisture by being in the fridge then warming it up by keeping out of the fridge.
moisture and warmth creates mold as long as there is basic elements in the moisture...
Which there is... And your giving them both. Oh and light as well, that is needed to create mold. its not impossible to do what your saying without getting mold. Why make shit complicated though?

Secret curing method before you even chop? lol go ahead and keep that secret. Many people have kept their herb in the freezer with no problems.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Friedrice again. x 4 or 5... Curing is a 1-time shot for 'perfect' cure, anything else in the reintroduction of moisture can cause quite a few problems as previously mentioned.
