Ok, so I did my first official small grow this year of 2 plants near a riverbank and was amazed at how strong and resistant marijuana was. I did not water the plants and checked on them maybe twice and I was quite delighted to come back yesterday to see enough bud to last me for the next few months! I transplanted these plants as a guerilla grow...pain in the ass and risky carrying them to the site! My question: next year I would like to do a larger grow but plant from seed. Will seeds planted in the soil "in the wild" propegate? Or will they be too vulnerable to the sun in these early stages? I'd like to just turn the soil and pop seeds every foot apart about a quarter inch down. Say I plant 25 ungerminated seeds,,how many do you guys think will survive? I'm in the mid Atlantic region of the us

Well the plants do grow wild some places, so I'd assume that means that you can definitely grow from seed in the wild. I'm not an expert or anything, but that seems logical.

Unfortunately probably none may survive unless you gave daily waterings. I recommend keeping them at home till they are a few weeks old and strong enough to survive in the wild.

All of my guerilla grows are from seed except two plants... They are kind of under a trees shade they get sun from like 7 or whenever it rises until around 10 and then they don't get sun until like after 3pm and they do great... Had problems with moles, armadillos, wild hogs, and other pest but all survivors and look to be producing very well... I planted somewhere around 20 seeds and only 5 survived outta the twenty but mine are in one main area not spaced out like you wanna do yours... Good luck

You could make seed bombs.
Mix equal parts of clay and compost, add a little water to help it bind together. Make little balls out of the mixture and put one seed in each ball. This will protect the seeds from animals eating them in the beginning and also give them a little head start with the nutrients.

i start mine outside from seed, in plastic cups, but i germinate them first, i planted 25 the 3rd week of may, and that about 5 days after they broke the surface, a rain storm killed all but two, i planted about 20 more, and nearly all of them made it, so with good weather and limited pests they can survive, im planning to make some kinda make shift green house out of clear plastic next year, for the seedling stage, to ensure a greater survival rate

i was trying to figure out something like that myself and i came up with an idea with 5 gal buckets but somebody suggested to simply cover them with 2L bottles. simple and cheap.
