I was given a special
cut from a friend, i dont have any way of
getting a male of it. Ive been able to takes tons of cuts off of it. Any idea how I could go about saving this strain forever? maybe a way to seed it somehow with all its traits still in the seed

Colloidal silver will work on just one branch of the plant. Then if you isolate just that female she’ll pollinate herself. ( do this with a single clone and flip it early) you only need a few to save the strain. And it will be exactly like the original

Feminized seeds can carry recessives, and Ive never found fems as good as regular seeds. Though I know you dont have a male, and even regular seeds wont guarantee youll find the same pheno you have. You may have to go through 100s of seeds to find it again.

If it's a stabilized cultivar, you can self it (create female pollen and self-pollinate) and the resulting seeds will probably be rather close to what you have.
If it's not stabilized, the offspring might be rather different from what you have.

In general it's impossible to make "perfect copies" of a plant other than cloning it. Growing from seed will always introduce genetic variation.

All seeds carry plenty of recessives. Can you point me to some reliable information as to why seeds created with female pollen are different in that regard compared to "regular" seeds?

As far as I understand it, female pollen will carry the genetic information of the plant that generated the pollen in the same way a male plant would have.

Feminized plants dont carry the Y chromosome, and are not as diverse as regular seeds.

Ive grown at least 10 different feminized strains, and compared them to both elite clone only strains, and plants/clones Ive obtaind by pheno hunting from regular seeds. Ive never found the feminized seeds to be as good as the regulars, or the original clones.

I reversed an original Chem91skva clone, and while the weed was good, much of it was different that the original clone, and none of it was as potent as the original clone.
I also tried the Barneys Garm feminizeeed G13 x Haze, and I have a clone from 10-11 years ago, before they went straight feminized. Now theyve staarted reguars again, but I grew 20 feminized G13 x Haze, and not one of them was as potent, grew as fast, or even had the same coloring as my 10 years old clone.

Ive also got an original cut of OG Kush, and had the same outcome of the Chem91skva clone. While there was some good weed/plants, not one of them was as good as the original cut.

Also when Ive grow the feminized seeds, I used no less than 10 females to compare.

I also F2 2 packs of Mr Nice Super Silver Haze 10 years ago, and pheno hunted out of 250 females to find the one that suited my criteria. Ive had this clone for almost 10 years.
Ive got about 15 mother plants, some going back to 2002. AK47, NL5, Willie Nelson, NL5 x Haze, Sensi Hashplant, Sensi NL5 x Haze and some others.

I then bought 1 pack each of SSH from 3 different sources of Feminized SSH seeds. Growers Choice Seeds, The Seed Depot, Greenhouse Seeds. None of them grew as fast, were as potent, or produced as much.

Others miles may vary, but from the strains Ive compared to the original clones, or pheno hunted through regular seeds, when it comes down to it, the feminized didnt stack up vs the originals. This is my experience. Others may have different experiences.
Im not sold on feminized seeds at all. Also theyre more likely to hermi.

You've got two good solutions, either making S1 seeds with STS (lots of premixed products with instructions available) or you could dip your toes into tissue culture, which is an excellent way to rejuvenate old clones but will require some effort. S1 seeds won't be identical to the cut, but you'll find something close without having to hunt too much, and if you hunt a lot, you'll find something nearly identical. I've always found feminized seeds to be just as good as regs. For example, Karma once said he'd "rather have 100 S1 seeds to select from than a so-called "elite cut" because breeding is all about selection, and that "elite-cut" is someone else's personal selection for the traits they want. How do you know that elite cut is the best that gene pool has to offer? Grow out 100 seeds and you'll see what that gene pool has to offer." That's paraphrased, not an exact quote.

Id rather have the original Skelly/Puck Hashplant cut, or the PNW Hashplant cut, Chem91skva cut than any regular seed, or feminized seed. Those cuts have been around since the 80s-90s for a reason. Same for the original Romulan cut. Its been alive siince 1979

The best way is tissu culture if you plan to keep it for a long time , clone tend to lose potency over year and backcross doesn't always give you the same things not to mention the number of seed u have to pop to find the right pheno, when tissue culture is like putting it back to day one and be able to keep it as long as u want and not take room like mother plant
