Hey i was just wondering if i have the lights in a good distance away from the plants ... or does it need to be closer ?

Keep in mind i just got the lights yesterday ... and before that .. my plants got little to no sun and no lights what so ever .. until yesterday night time .

Here are the pictures ... is the distance good away from the plants ?

The lights are 6500 k bulbs and 3000 k bulbs ... mixed .

and there each 54 watt per bulb .

Don't mind the other plant ... those are some tangerines i am growing lol .

thx.

Thanks , also another question .. once the plants have grown quite a bit ... Do i raise the lights higher ? so its still 4 inches away from the plant .
yes. its a heat issue. if its no hoton the back of your hand when your hand i just over the top of your plant. then your light is to close...but yes keep the light at that distance all the way threw.

Yeah keep the light just far enough away to not harm the plants, checking with the back of your hand. Light intensity decreases exponentially with distance, if you double the distance, the amount of light received by the plants is reduced by a factor of four, so as close as you can get it without burning them, fluoros run fairly cool so you might be able to get 'em as close as 2" without problems.
