question about venting closet/small grow area and dealing with heat

Trying to keep a 2.5' x 6' x 8' closet cool with 2 x 600 watt air cooled hoods. 650 cfm max fan inside the closet blowing through the hoods and venting outside the house, with passive air intake. The room the closet is in has a 6" intake bringing in fresh air from outside.

This is in a northern climate so I thought I could get away with this during the colder months of the year without an AC. But the outside temp reached 65 last night and with the lights at about 36" it reached 90 inside the closet. So I am wondering if I ran fresh air straight into the hoods instead of sucking it out of the closet if this would lower the temp. This would involve some back breaking work and would be a pain in the ass to pull off so I am looking for advise before I go through with it. Also concerned about doing this once freezing temps come but I could always go back to the way I have it now.

The way its set up now the hoods and duct work are all cool to the touch so it makes me wonder if I am just dealing with too much light/heat in too small of an area. I don't have a carbon filter hooked up yet or the lights as low as I want to get them so that will only make it harder to keep temps inline. I have messed around with intake size into the closet and that didn't seem to do anything. Any advice would be appreciated.
