Random seeds progress

Day 21 from breaking ground.
Bag seeds from a friend of a friend (baggie had 2 labels in it. 1 said trainwreck, the other said lemon sour diesel) so might be that, might be trash.
Happy Frog soil
Well water
150W full spectrum LED

These guys/gals are short and stacked. Is that good? Bad? Should I pull the light up a bit or keep it where its at? Is there enough room to top them? Since these are bag seeds, I have no idea whether they are male or female. What is the best/quickest way to sex them so I'm not wasting time or dirt?

Approximately day 31 7/24/2022

They have been transplanted into 1 gallon fabric pots. I topped 2 plants and left the others alone. I tied some branches down and around. These are staying short and stout. The nodes are just stacking on top of each other. I will get some updated shots tonight as well. 20220724_215710.jpg

Day 38

Trimmed a little bit off the plants that had leaves in the dirt. Plants are all a bit short and stubby still. Overall, they are looking pretty healthy and happy and getting new growth.

Here is a preview shot of the Happy Bird Seeds Volcano Girl. She is chugging along quite nicely.

Day 41

I lowered the intensity of the light from 100% to 50% Monday evening. After talking with someone about similar issues, I feel like the light was too strong and slowing down growth/stretch. While they were putting on new growth, the nodes were so close to each other that I had problems getting clippers in to top one of them. After 36 hours of 50% light, they have started filling in a little quicker and with a bit more stretching.

The plants will show their sex via preflowers once they reach maturity. There's no speeding it up and so no quickest or best way. The actual quickest and best way to ensure females from seed is to simply use feminized seeds from reputable breeder. Theres no greater dice roll than bagseed...in all aspects. It can be worth it sometimes though. The best weed I've ever grown was a bagseed from street weed almost a decade ago that I didn't clone and still regret to this day. Anyways...

Otherwise you're plants are looking fairly decent overall. They do look quite healthy. Though personally I would want my plants to be a lot bigger...at least two or three times the size of those for 41 days veg. Thats a long veg for the pots to still be bigger than the plants. And I dont think you're going to notice them filling in and/or increased stretching within 36 hours of lowering the light intensity...esp when they're quite small and growing slowly as it is. Might just be imagining that.

I would like them to be bigger as well, but here we are. Lol. Thats said , I do think they were stunted by having the full power light on them. The nodes were so close that it was tough to get the scissors in to top a couple of them. While I may have overstated it that I saw them stretching more, they definitely responded positively to the light being turned down. I also just got a little humidifier as well to toss in there to try and get the RH up a bit.

Thanks for the response. And I guess I will just wait for them to show themselves.

Day 48

All 5 plants have filled out nicely. I have super cropped a few branches, tied down a few, and used some lst clips to get them to fill out. Will they show sex before I switch them to 12/12 or do I need to flip them to get them to show? I just don't want to transplant and waste time, space, and dirt on males.

Day 50

I adjusted the lights off period yesterday to a little longer than the 20/4 they were on. I dont normally see them while lights are off because I'm at work. I peaked in this morning and it appears that within 10 minutes of lights out, these ladies go to sleep!!! Lol.

Day 51

Did a little trimming and tying down. Also got them in their own saucers so they could be spread out a little bit.

Day 53
These are pics from the bottom center plant in the previous pics. I am assuming it is still too early to tell, but is this girl showing her sex where the arrows are or am I just jumping the gun?

Woohoo!!! I'll see how she looks tomorrow evening and get her into her 3 gallon pot then. Hopefully another one of the 5 show lady parts as well.
